No T.P. in Socialist Utopia Venezuela

Moonbat heartthrob Hugo Chavez is thankfully dead, but the socialism he inflicted remains in place around Venezuela’s neck. One indication of this is shortages reminiscent of the Soviet Union:

First milk, butter, coffee and cornmeal ran short. Now Venezuela is running out of the most basic of necessities — toilet paper.

As in all socialist countries, the free market and its advocates are held to blame…

President Nicolas Maduro, who was selected by the dying Hugo Chavez to carry on his “Bolivarian revolution,” claims that anti-government forces, including the private sector, are causing the shortages in an effort to destabilize the country.

…even though the actual culprit is government:

Economists say Venezuela’s shortages stem from price controls meant to make basic goods available to the poorest parts of society and the government’s controls on foreign currency.

“State-controlled prices — prices that are set below market-clearing price — always result in shortages. The shortage problem will only get worse, as it did over the years in the Soviet Union,” said Steve Hanke, professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University.

Venezuela sits atop an ocean of oil. Given economic freedom, people would be wiping with bank notes. But no country is so wealthy that collectivism can’t render it too poor to meet basic needs — as America will learn soon if we don’t change course.

Cornholio must be from a socialist country.

Obama ought to contract out the IRS to Venezuela so they can harass the enemies of collectivism there too. That’ll fix it.

  2. QuietMan says:

If there’s no food, then you don’t need TP. Socialist genius.

  3. Wizard45 says:

WTH, Dave given the value of the “Bolivar” they might as well use bank notes for their bungholes.

Time to airlift them tons of KORAN-toilet paper. Or with images of moHAMed printed all over it.

I’d throw in a few pallets of Che TP too.. would love to see the look on their face when they have to make that fateful decision..

  5. Winston Smith says:

I was wondering why when Obama as “installed” I developed a sudden urge to begin stockpiling at least 1 years worth or toilet paper and another years worth of paper towels (which can be used as TP in a pinch). Amerika isnt there yet, but given another 3 years of the Moonbat Messiah who knows!

  6. Winston Smith says:

People dont realize how import something simple like TP is until its not there any more. Maybe those people who have enough TP to survive the apocalypse arent so crazy after all. LOL!

Sorry Artfldgr! Your tip temporarily fell through the cracks, so to speak.

  10. A. Levy says:

“Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy. The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent vice of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Some regard private enterprise as if it were a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look upon it as a cow to be milked. Few realize it for what it is – the horse that pulls the whole cart…”

We can send them a copy of the “healthcare” bill and current tax regulations. That should tide Venezuela over for a month or two.

It’s tough when dogs have it better. A dog’s life consists of a three tiered menu. If you can’t eat it or f*ck it, sh*t on it. Less than dogs. Did they really vote for this? If so, I hope they enjoy it, but are forced to stay there, with those options. I ain’t giving them a… hand.

Cornholio at one time said he was from Nicaragua. Your caption is, therefore, essentially correct, since the Ortega gang was, last I heard, still in power there…
