Ontario Government Loses Money at Drug Dealing

Big Government can lose money at everything — even drug dealing.

Via Canada’s CBC:

Ontario Cannabis Retail Corp. lost $42 million in the latest fiscal year, according to newly released public documents.

OCRC is a government entity. The Ontario government is a drug dealer — and not a very good one. Even the losers dealing drugs on ghetto street corners are competent enough to make a profit.

The provincial Crown corporation tasked with online sales and wholesale distribution of recreational pot reported revenues of $64 million for the year ended March 31, 2019.

Expenses totaled $106 million.

Government bureauweenies could lose money selling water in the desert. Free of the restraints imposed on private enterprises by the market, they will invariably mismanage and spend more than makes sense.
