The good news? The last big quake on this FAULT – since evidence is piling up that the Rose Canyon-Newport-Englewood fault is not a “system” but is actually a single fault – was 1933, so we’re not due for another until around 2633, since the articles explain that it should have a “big one” every 700 years or so.

  3. Bodhisattva says:

Dangerous levels of hate? Yes, Trump’s election DID let out “dangerous levels of hate” – FROM MOONBATS LIKE HER!

Hillary Clinton says President Donald Trump has unleashed a level of vitriol and hate that is “incredibly dangerous.”

I never, ever thought I would say this, but that remark is correct as written. Not the rest, of course, but that part – that Trump has (by being elected) “unleashed a level of vitriol and hate that is incredibly dangerous” IS ABSOLUTELY TRUE! The level of hate now being emitted by moonbats is indeed “incredibly dangerous”, as was the hate spewed by Clinton… pretty much since she first entered the national spotlight.

Keep in mind when you read this that it is basically the same thing they said before – that models indicate severe thunderstorms are going to get worse – THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. This time they really mean it, apparently!

Although severe thunderstorms are one of the primary causes of catastrophic loss in the United States, their response to elevated greenhouse forcing has remained a prominent source of uncertainty for climate change impacts assessment. We find that the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project, Phase 5, global climate model ensemble indicates robust increases in the occurrence of severe thunderstorm environments over the eastern United States in response to further global warming.

Wash. Times Politics: Huntington church agrees to be a ‘sanctuary’ for immigrants

A church in West Virginia has pledged to be a sanctuary for undocumented immigrants who are targets of deportation. The Herald-Dispatch reports ( ) The First Congregational United Church of Christ in Huntington announced on Wednesday a pledge to open its doors to those facing deportation and discrimination, as it believes policies under past and current administrations have unfairly discriminated against immigrants. A news release from the congregation says although they are not equipped to house those threatened by deportation long term, the church will be a safe space in immediate danger as it helps find resources to assist those in need. According to the U.S. Department of Immigration since February more than 300 people have been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement targeted operations in West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

Talk about gall. Kathy Griffin, who paraded around the bloodied, severed “head” of President Trump, is now claiming to be the victim of — wait for it — “bullying.” Better still, she will speaking out about her plight and the “bullying from the Trump family that she has endured,” in a press conference this Friday And of course who better to represent Griffin than Gloria Allred’s daughter, Lisa Bloom? “Proud to announce that I represent Kathy Griffin. We will be holding a press conference tomorrow morning,” said Bloom in a tweet. The press conference will allegedly reveal the “true motivation” behind the severed-head photo shoot. The “melting pot” is being striated by the left into layers of “victimization” and “group identities” – care of our previous divider-in-chief, the half-white half-black “messiah” who was going to “heal” our country yet caused even more racial divides and animosity.

Knowingly harboring a fugitive with a Federal arrest warrant has to qualify as a criminal offense. I guess just arrest and prosecute the leaders of the church and whatever members you can prove to be involved. 48. Bodhisattva says:

Self Delusion (n) When you have convinced yourself of something that obviously is not true. Example:

Mass media follow ethical codes of pursuing fair, accurate and objective journalistic work. These codes, mainly referred to as professional norms, consider journalism as a platform for an open and transparent discourse between different sectors of society. In this context, media strive for independence, truth, and accuracy in coverage (ASNE 2002), which are reflected in similar values and attitudes toward their professional work (Bennett 1996).

  50. KirklesWorth says:

I think we’ve covered this topic a few dozen times.

Daily Caller: Who Cares About ‘Conservatism’?

The entire liberal/conservative attempt to frame the world is based on a fundamental falsehood; the falsehood that one’s beliefs and opinions somehow matter when describing reality and that you somehow have the power to pick and choose which to believe, i.e. which is a true representation of reality.

This is a childish way of thinking. Yours and my opinions or beliefs matter no more in politics or economics than they do in the hard sciences; which is to say they don’t matter at all.

Rather than attempting to put everything in a conservative versus liberal framework, how about casting that aside and instead building a true versus false framework? This is what started about 600 years ago in what is now called the hard sciences, in fact this was the birthplace of “science” and look at the results!

  51. Mr. Freemarket says:

Prosecuting a person for harboring a fugitive is, IMHO, far different than revoking the tax exemption of a church.

We are, however, treading on touchy ground. My ancestors were driven from the US because of their religious beliefs. Some were imprisoned for violation of federal law (polygamy…a practice that they believed because of their religious beliefs). The government went so far as to threaten to seize all church property. Hardly an example of embracing religious freedom.

Seems to me that there are a whole lot of civil officials who should be prosecuted before taking on a church.

  52. KirklesWorth says:

Yes, it is far different. At what point is harboring fugitives (or more accurately described as protecting illegal aliens) a religious belief that supersedes the law? What kind of consequence should a church or a mosque suffer for this type of transgression? Your anecdote about religious freedom is interesting and all, but national security jeopardized by 800 churches is hardly a comparison to some men with multiple wives. Interesting that we are debating this.

  53. Bodhisattva says:

    Now I’ve heard everything.

Women are being warned against trying a bizarre new trend that suggests using ground-up wasp nests to tighten and rejuvenate their vaginas.

Some online retailers have been selling oak galls, which are nests that house wasp eggs before they hatch, and touting them as a natural way of cleaning female genitals.

The product reportedly is crushed into a paste and applied topically, with one listing on Etsy, which has now been removed, claiming it can improve a woman’s sex life.

They are also being advertised as helping to “heal episiotomy cuts, rejuvenate the uterine wall and clean out the vagina” after childbirth, though there are warnings that it can “burn” when applied.

Now, gynecologist Jen Gunter is warning women not to get sucked in by the new trend after branding it “dangerous” — saying the practice is using “drying agents” to tighten the vagina.

Writing on her blog, she said: “Drying the vaginal mucosa increases the risk of abrasions during sex (not good) and destroys the protective mucous layer (not good).”

  54. Mr. Freemarket says:

I believe in prosecuting individuals for their acts, as opposed to attempting to prosecute an organization.

Little known fact is that Johnson’s Army was sent to the Utah Territory to install the federally appointed governor. Of course the southern members of congress supported it as a way to weaken the federal army in advance of a possible civil war.

  56. KirklesWorth says:

You are a plethora of historical facts. So your stance is that churches, synagogues, mosques, etc. are not accountable when harboring illegal aliens?

  57. Mr. Freemarket says:

A church is an organization. Unless the organization takes an official stand on an issue (such as the Pope saying all illegals are welcome in Catholic buildings), then it is individuals, not “the church” that is harboring illegals.

Most churches and other organizations are wise enough to not go against the federal government officially.
