Trump will get things done, with or without the Republicans.

Apparently Nancy Pelosi knows what is in this bill without it even being written yet… let alone not having passed it to see what’s in it.

Democrats say they have deal with Trump on young immigrants

Now there’s a bunch of outrage… how dare Trump talk to the Democrats, let alone work with them!

But let’s see what’s in the bill before we start going nuts.

Apparently there will be a lot of the things needed for improved border security. No “wall”, but we all knew there was never going to be a wall from coast to coast anyway, didn’t we?

Will there be AMNESTY? That’s a big question. Shielding “dreamers” from deportation while they are in school or working would be one thing. We will have to see how far beyond that it goes. Also just how much improved border security it provides. Even the Republicans were likely to give something to the “dreamers” – I suspect that the Democrats are making this out to be a much greater victory for them than it is.

  5. Bodhisattva says:

Yeah, but will they keep the left-tard fascist haters out? Really? We are about to find out.

The University of California, Berkeley will seal off large parts of its campus like a fortress with a closed perimeter and a “very large” visible police presence Thursday, when the birthplace of America’s free speech movement faces its next potential clashes.

City and campus authorities anticipate demonstrations at a speech by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, a former Breitbart editor, and are preparing for possible violence with a variety of new strategies and tightened security.

For the first time in two decades, officers will be armed with pepper spray after the city council modified a 1997 ban at an emergency meeting this week.

The fascists from antifa will very likely need more than pepper spray to keep them under control. Wait and see.

  6. Bodhisattva says:

This might be more of a signal than a real move, since it does not affect the countries that are the worst at refusing those we wish to deport. Let’s see how things work out.

The U.S. State Department on Wednesday will stop issuing certain kinds of visas to some citizens of Cambodia, Eritrea, Guinea and Sierra Leone because the nations are not taking back their citizens the United States wants to deport.

The new policies, laid out in State Department cables reviewed by Reuters on Tuesday and described in a department news briefing, are the latest example of U.S. President Donald Trump’s effort to crack down on immigrants who are in the United States illegally.

The cables, sent by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to consular officials around the world, said the four countries were “denying or unreasonably delaying” the return of their citizens, and that visa restrictions would be lifted in a country if it accepted its deportees.

“The Secretary determines the categories of applicants subject to the visa restrictions, and the categories differ slightly country by country,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in the news briefing on Tuesday.

The visa sanctions vary in severity, with Eritrea facing the harshest ones. Any Eritreans who apply in their own country for most U.S. business or tourist visas will be rejected, according to one of the cables.

Take a close look at the sign across from the “singer.” It says “Halal Food.” If she did this in a country where halal food is served, she’d be stoned by a crowd. And keep the kids off the streets of Portland.

If Only Someone Had Warned Them!

Gee, if only someone had been around in 2015 and 2016, to warn these poor folks that Trump had no ideological principles; that he was erratic, mercurial and quick to seek out scapegoats; that he had almost no knowledge about how the federal government worked and little interest in learning; that he was temperamentally ill-suited to the daily pressures of the presidency and the inevitable criticism from the press, and that he was more focused on gratifying his own ego and feeling an abstract sense of “winning” than particular policy outcomes or building broad coalitions to enact his agenda…

I kid, of course. All of these people were warned, time and again, with mountains of history and supporting evidence about Trump’s true nature and instincts. But these folks were completely convinced that they knew better.

  44. Bodhisattva says:

Actually, and I wish I had the link handy (I think I posted it somewhere in a previous thread here), the only amnesty will have to do with very specific things – those who serve in our military was one – a path to amnesty that has existed as long as I’ve been alive.

Building a wall from coast to coast was NEVER going to happen – if one simply looks at the geography of the border one understands why not.

Yes, Trump should not have said it would happen, but unlike most politicians, he is actually making his best attempt, despite BOTH PARTIES STUBBORNLY OPPOSING HIM, to keep the spirit, if not the letter, of each thing he promised. And last time I checked he’s doing pretty good. There are prototype walls being built here in California. The courts just ruled in his favor on several issues – travel ban, refugee ban, etc. He’s sent a clear signal that the Republicans better get in line and work with him to move his agenda (i.e. his campaign promises) forward or he will work with the Democrats to do it AND their recent claims they got him to roll over without getting anything in return turned out to be typical lunatic leftist moonbat LIES, straight up.

“antifa” admits they are determined to engage in FASCIST tactics.

Antifa activists say violence is necessary

Anti-fascist activists, or “antifa,” increasingly mobilized in the wake of President Trump’s election, are unapologetic about what they describe as the necessary use of violence.

They say the use of force is intrinsic to their political philosophy, which is clearly FASCISM.

The justification [of the use of violence] is that Nazi ideology at its very core is founded on violence and on wielding power by any means,” said Mike Isaacson, as he clearly admitted that his organization takes it’s inspiration and it’s philosophy from the NAZIs while claiming to be anti-NAZI.

This is right in line with Obama’s apology/bowing tour of the world. The same utter nonsense. Be ashamed, not proud, of your country. And the goal is to raise a generation, no actually MULTIPLE GENERATIONS of children who are ashamed of America. Yes, the communists did say they would destroy us through our children and it is happening right before our eyes.

  47. Bodhisattva says:

Berkeley, a hotbed of anti border wall activism, does the unimaginable:

The city of Berkeley, taking no chances with prospective violence from leftists who oppose the very idea of Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro speaking at the University of California, Berkeley on Thursday night, is erecting concrete barriers around town to prevent protesters from running amok.

More proof of how profoundly STUPID moonbats are. This “wall” won’t stop anyone. It’s as if they’re planning to fail.

True, I state it in slightly different terms: Democrats do not agree to anything unless it advances their socialist goals and they oppose anything that gives more power and freedom to the people.

  55. Bodhisattva says:

Since there is in fact no deal and no proposed bill, all the sources that claim otherwise are lying. Including or, more accurately PARTICULARLY Schumer and Pelosi and their lapdog media outlets.

“We will have to pass it to see what’s in it”, rather we will have to see what they write to see what is in it. If they include “a path to amnesty” that starts with 4 years in our military and requires an honorable discharge at the end, I’d be OK with that.

  56. Bodhisattva says:

  67. Torcer says:

    Considering recent trends…..

  68. Bodhisattva says:

The problem is no 100% “true conservatives” were running – nor have any run in a number of years. Are there any left? Each of the candidates running in 2016 had some serious flaws. I’m not sure any of them would have been much better than Trump and they could have been worse. In fact if the Republicans would just get an agenda and get working on it Trump would probably help them pass it, but they’d rather join the Democrats and obstruct him. We have a historic opportunity here to roll back decades of leftward creep and as before the Republicans are letting it slip away.

  69. Torcer says:

We we’re looking for a purity test, but we did want someone who would stick to their principles. The problem with a populist is that ‘winning’ is their main priority.

  76. Bodhisattva says:

A Government by the people for the people? Not sure it ever TRULY existed, certainly not in my lifetime, though there were those who made an effort to bring it about. I recall a certain Contract with America that I thought was a nice effort.

  77. Bodhisattva says:

I may be repeating myself, but as I think I said before, many (perhaps you were among them, I’ve put it all out of my mind) correctly stated that some of Trump’s principles were not those we found desirable – a fact often mentioned as the subject of threads here, much to the chagrin of those who were all in for Trump.

So we do have to get him back on track, ON THE RIGHT TRACK, but even more so we need to get Republicans in Congress on the right track because, at least I feel, if Trump is really on the wrong track (I feel that’s more media hype, I am not so sure it’s true – at least not to the extent claimed) it can be blamed at least in part on the Republicans determined to see him fail even if the hopes and dreams of their constituents fail along with that effort.

Trump did use a populist message – but the point being he felt the pulse of the average American and shaped his message to ensure resonance. Put simply, if he manages to keep his promises, he will accomplish what many of us want him to do.

  78. Torcer says:

“You go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time.”
    ― Donald Rumsfeld

At this point in time, and for the past few months I’ve been following that maxim from Donald Rumsfeld. We have to work with what we have and try to steer him in the correct direction. And it’s a pointless waste of time arguing over the ratios of the articles someone has posted. Not to mention that is a rather simplistic method of analysis given that it didn’t take into account the type of article that was being posted in whether there fell into the somewhat subjective categories of being positive, negative or neutral.

Some of the reports coming out are very disturbing with regard to the future of the country, and we would be much better served debating the issues on an adult level than initiating attacks meant to punish and waste time as well as dwelling in the past.
