GOP elite holds off the tea partiers

GOP elders sympathize with the movement’s ideas and want to channel whatever energy the decentralized groups offer for November. But when asked about the tea-party’s influence in interviews here, the movement was always spoken of in the third person and as one constituency in the larger Republican coalition, sort of like defense hawks or fiscal conservatives.

Many Republicans here said that tea-party activists now understand that things will run more smoothly if those with experience are in charge rather than those who put a premium on ideology over process.

    Extinguishing Trayvon’s Bonfire

(See “The Trayvon Martin Bonfire,”, which drew parallels between the Trayvon Martin killing and Tom Wolfe’s 1987 novel, The Bonfire of the Vanities, and “The Whitewashing of Trayvon Martin,”, which made the case for, well, Trayvon’s whitewashing.)

From the outset, the media coverage of the February 26th, 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida has been skewed, biased, and journalistically disgraceful. The prosecution has demonstrated it is equivalently skewed, biased, and disgraceful.

Now that Zimmerman has been arrested and charged with second degree murder, the whole truth is finally seeping out which should dampen the Trayvon fires but I wouldn’t count on that.

At the beginning of this racial and legal fiasco, the only surety was that Zimmerman had shot Martin, which he freely admitted. The hype and lies that he was a racist, that he stalked Martin, etc. was just that, hype and lies manufactured by the MSM and exploited by black race hustlers in order to stir up racial unrest.

A reputable media would have reported the known facts in the case devoid of editorialized “news” stories designed to paint Zimmerman as a bloodthirsty murderer and Martin as a defenseless youth “hunted down like a rabid dog,” according to Democrat Rep. Frederika Wilson.

Instead of objectively reporting the known truth about the case, most of the broadcast, cable, and print media consistently distorted the facts. That distortion was epitomized by the MSM featuring photographs of Zimmerman looking more like a white man when he is actually half-hispanic and depicting Martin as an innocent child when he was actually full grown.

In reality, at the time he was killed Martin was anything but a child. He was a strapping, 6 foot, 2 inch 17 year old with a history of school suspensions, drug and gang associations, possession of a burglary tool, and possession of unexplained woman’s jewelry at school.

In an unorthodox move, on Friday the shackled Zimmerman courageously waived his Fifth Amendment rights against self incrimination and took the stand at his bond hearing. He said to the Martin family, “I am sorry for the loss of your son. I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am. I did not know if he was armed or not.”

The apology was immediately rejected as “self-serving” and “an outrage” by the family attorney, Benjamin Crump, and the prosecution described his testimony as “a media stunt.”

Zimmerman was granted bail in the amount of $150,000, a far cry from the million dollars the prosecution sought. More relevantly, Zimmerman never said he was guilty of any crime. Nevertheless, indicative of the state’s intent to convict him of all charges at all costs, the prosecuting attorney then asked him a totally unethical and inappropriate question under cross examination.

It’s remarkable that the defendant’s attorneys didn’t strongly object to the misleading question: “After you committed this crime and you spoke to the police, did you ever make that statement to the police? That you were sorry for what you’d done or for their loss?”

Equally remarkable is the prosecutor’s apparent obliviousness that no “crime” had yet been established and that Zimmerman is considered innocent under the law until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Now that a cell phone photo has surfaced substantiating Zimmerman’s contention that Martin had slammed his head into the pavement, one would hope the media would be more objectiveis. However, they are still as committed as the state of Florida to exonerating Martin and hanging the defendant.

The photo, taken by an eyewitness three minutes after the altercation, graphically shows blood streaming from two deep gashes in the back of his head, wounds that supplement neighbors’ statements that Zimmerman also had a bloody, swollen nose.

ABC World News’ Diane Sawyer displayed the picture then proceeded to effectively dismiss it as exculpatory evidence that Zimmerman feared for his life before he shot Martin. . . (Read more at

The Department of Justice is using the liberal “watchdog” group Media Matters for America to deflect questions about the Fast and Furious scandal, including those regarding a gun that might have been used in the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

A new book raises questions as to whether the FBI hid the existence of a weapon recovered at the scene of murdered U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. In response to an inquiry from the Free Beacon, a Justice Department spokeswoman said in an email that she “was told to direct your questions to the FBI, and also to provide you with a link to this story:”

The link was to a story at the George Soros-funded Media Matters for America supposedly refuting many of Pavlich’s claims. Media Matters is a partisan organization whose founder, David Brock, is also running a pro-Obama super PAC.

Definitely an excellent article. The take-home is:

The more that race is honestly discussed the more insulting it inevitably becomes for Blacks, and the more Whites will find themselves slipping unwittingly into “supremacist” language and attitudes, simply because of the underlying racial asymmetry.

St. Skittles is the current catalyst in point, brought out in full technicolor by Derbyshire.

I held my nose and had the chairman of a very active and prominent Dept of Psychology from a top university over for coffee – (served by myself so as to avoid any reminder or suggestion of a Negro house servant) – and quizzed him thoroughly on the issue of IQ scores and race.

His view was that the standard (and many of the nonstandard) IQ tests that are used today are highly predictive of future academic performance.

In other words, the WAIS, the Stanford-Binet and others, are normative and validated in so far that by academic performance, we are talking about calculus and molecular biology and not Woman In Political Lordosis 101 — the former requiring what everyone could agree requires intelligence to master, while the latter would require only the appropriate genitalia.

It is therefore a legitimate and by no means a “racist” proposition that blacks score lower on IQ tests than whites.

Where it goes from there is a matter of discretion, I suppose.

The asymmetry of race that automatically transmogrifies whites into white supremacists during discussions of race, is no more evident than in BO’s thug attempt to intimidate the SCOTUS on ObamaCare.

I mean, after that unmitigated piece of unadulterated stupidity, wouldn’t it be reasonable for reasonable men to now….Now?….be allowed to inspect BO’s Harvard transcripts?

But no. Even a slight clearing of the throat at the mention of BO’s high status as a Constitutional Professor (he is/was neither) could bring about dreaded raised eyebrows that would inevitably precipitate charges of racism levied onto the throat-clearer.

Or like Derbyshire and Buchannan, would serve as inarguable reasons for immediate dismissal from their livelihoods.

This is all a lesson in just how fast a country can find itself in a state of decline before it even sees itself sliding into a state of decline.

And woe to the unimaginative white supremacist who might dare think that somewhere,…. there could exist a document that provides a way of vetting the citizenship qualifications of a president.

The highest tenured faculty member at Chicago Law spoke out on Barack Obama saying, “Professors hated him because he was lazy, unqualified, never attended any of the faculty meetings.”
Doug Ross reported this and more:

I spent some time with the highest tenured faculty member at Chicago Law a few months back, and he did not have many nice things to say about “Barry.” Obama applied for a position as an adjunct and wasn’t even considered. A few weeks later the law school got a phone call from the Board of Trustees telling them to find him an office, put him on the payroll, and give him a class to teach. The Board told him he didn’t have to be a member of the faculty, but they needed to give him a temporary position. He was never a professor and was hardly an adjunct.

The other professors hated him because he was lazy, unqualified, never attended any of the faculty meetings, and it was clear that the position was nothing more than a political stepping stool. According to my professor friend, he had the lowest intellectual capacity in the building. He also doubted whether he was legitimately an editor on the Harvard Law Review, because if he was, he would be the first and only editor of an Ivy League law review to never be published while in school (publication is or was a requirement).

There is a reason why many people support Obama despite his phony birth certificate, Muslim upbringing, phony Harvard and Columbia credentials, foreign student aid, support of Reverend Wright’s agenda, history of drug fueled homosexual liaisons, lack of experience, baby killing agenda, allegiance to Muslim Brotherhood, communist/socialist/marxist/Islamic agendas, etc., etc., etc.

“3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

5 Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, 10 and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.”

The thing is, time and time again, we’ve seen results that show that Blacks do score lower than whites – that is to say if you make one bell curve of scores of whites and another of blacks, the center of the curve of scores of blacks is below that of the curve of the scores of whites.

First, all sorts of efforts are taken to explain this away:

    1) It’s a flaw in the tests, which are skewed towards whites.

    2) Whites have imposed such terrible conditions on blacks for so long that it’s whitey’s fault.

And whatever other excuses they make for this.

The problem is that’s not the whole story. There’s a third race, you see, which we haven’t talked about.

    Asians. The “yellow” man.

If you make a third curve of the scores of Asians, put it on the same plot as the other two curves, you find that the Asians, at least eastern/southeastern Asians (I’m just going to call them “Asians” to keep this simple), wind up scoring higher still – the center of their curve is above the center of the curve for whites.

This is not to say that there are no blacks who score very high and no Asians who score very low. There are.

There are SOME blacks who score higher than SOME whites and SOME Asians. But the irrefutable fact is that blacks, as a group, have an average score below the average score of whites, who in turn have an average score below the average score of Asians.

Given the above FACTS, should we hold Asians to a higher standard than whites, and blacks to a lower standard?

Do you want someone flying your commercial jetliner who was held to a lower standard? Do you want someone who’s operating on your heart or brain to be someone who’s been held to a lower standard? Never mind you – what about your kids? Don’t they deserve to know that the person who’s doing whatever is the BEST QUALIFIED, not someone who was given a free pass because their race, as a whole, simply scores lower (and statistics also suggest performs lower) than some other race?

This sounds like a terribly prejudiced position to take, but it’s not. It’s simply accepting rather than denying reality.

By the way, I think that Jews tend to beat your average Caucasian too, if I heard right. I do not know who wins between them and Asians.

  32. Bob Roberts says:

Here are some of what I thought were key sections from “The Asymmetry of America”.

Where goodwill exists, the different groups can represent their racial and cultural interests, and address problems in a quid pro quo manner, without denying race as the American establishment does. Between Blacks and Whites in the USA, this is simply impossible, because whenever racial issues are addressed the enormous racial asymmetry instantly becomes the main issue. But what does this racial asymmetry consist of? In concrete terms it refers to the entirely lopsided relationship between the two races and how they compare in a number of key indicators where Blacks are on the negative side: They are much poorer, more criminal, imprisoned in much greater numbers, less educated, depend much more on welfare and ‘affirmative’ action, have much less conventional family stability, and report much lower IQ rates than Whites. By all the standards that matter in a modern society, Blacks trail disastrously behind Whites. It is this asymmetry that makes an honest discussion about race an impossibility in modern America. It also makes a quid pro quo very difficult, because what this are Whites to get for what that?

Instead we get a dishonest discussion about race: Back in the 1950s and 60s, round about the time the National Review was getting on its feet, nice, kind White liberals popularized an explanation for all the above phenomena that tied them all together in a series of causes and effects in a manner that was not overly insulting and offensive to Black people. Basically it said that Blacks were suffering from slavery and racism and that once racism was removed they would soon catch up with Whites and be their equals. Without this lie, desegregation and civil rights could not have happened.

The basic racial asymmetry between Blacks and Whites means that the “Face-Saving Racial Myth” must never be challenged, for when it is the already tattered national fabric starts to unravel. Wherever you have a marked racial asymmetry, honest discussion of it will do two things. First it will be immensely offensive to the disadvantaged race and those who claim to speak for them (another indice of racial asymmetry is that Blacks usually need Whites to do their arguing for them). It is unrealistic not to expect them to be angry. They will be well and truly pissed. This is not an argument to placate them, but a mere statement of fact.

The second thing that will happen is that White people, even those who have nothing but goodwill for Blacks, will notice that the longer they honestly and frankly discuss race the more they will end up sounding exactly like “White supremacists” and so-called hard-line “racists.” This is not because they have “inherent racism” as leftists like to imagine, it is simply because the facts of the debate will push them in that direction.

Derbyshire’s article is a perfect example of both of these effects. Far from being hateful or racist, the tone of the article was one of stoical regret that things had to be the way they are, but that, because of undeniable facts and dangers, certain precautions were advisable to safeguard one’s children. Writing with his usual honesty and thoroughness, it wasn’t long before he was unwittingly saying things that couldn’t help but be offensive to Blacks, while nevertheless being completely true.

  33. Bob Roberts says:

Clearly Derbyshire should have written the Taki’s article under a pseudonym.

Since, in the midst of the comment race-wank, I *may* be the only person who’s familiar with something this obscure:
For what it’s worth, I’ve read about the multiple intelligences and learning styles for a while (I come from at least 4 generations of teachers, and my whole family studies education and the brain- I was raised on dinner discussions of teaching methods), and the tests we give in the West typically test for:
    1. verbal-linguistic
    2. logical-mathematical
Certain types of learning styles/intelligences are more common in certain gene pools, just like hair colors, etc. are. The tests are for the two TYPES of intelligence (there are at least seven MI we know of so far) that are most common among white males- and the teaching methods also lean that way.

There are also cultural variables- ESPECIALLY access to books in early childhood, an intact family and motivation to study- but the bottom line is that in most American/European tests, you’re basically being tested on how much your brain is wired like a European male’s- and the teaching methods we use almost never appeal to the types of learning styles most common among Africans and Native Americans- who, predictably, score lower (again, there are cultural/social issues- I don’t fault someone for not knowing Shakespeare if they’re too busy dodging bullets.)
It’s not a “this race is superior” issue, but a “all races are different and we really need to take into account different learning styles when teaching and administering tests” issue.
For instance, I’m VERY high on visual intelligence and verbal-linguistic- and I can learn best by viewing things and reading- but I’m *horrible* at learning by listening: my auditory processing is so low that IF that was the only teaching method, I’d be at risk for an “LD” label, despite the 140+ IQ. However, education and testing BOTH have heavy support on verbal-linguistic (even though they’re low on visual-spacial) so I can kind of BS my way through halfway (and my Literature teachers always love me.) I think that if people were to test kids for learning style + strongest multiple intelligences in elementary/primary school and sort them into small work groups within the class with slightly different teaching methods to appeal to their strengths, then the test scores would change dramatically.

I the long wall-of-text doesn’t have any errors, guys. I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in over a week, and I feel like a zombie… But, by all means, research
