  7. Bob Roberts says:

With respect to the last link in my last post (see above), the one about life expectancy, some may have noted that the U.S. is ranked 51st globally.

The liberals use this as part of their, “We should be more like ‘X’ because their country is better” arguments.

We live shorter lives because we have more freedoms and because the liberals among us are good at helping cleanse the gene pool as a result.

Some of you note this each time you post about moonbat criminals who wind up against armed civilians.

  8. Bob Roberts says:

This argument (I mentioned above) is in fact usually used to point out how much better off “socialist” Europe is than we are.

However, they fail to look at the BIG PICTURE as those parts of Europe which suffered long under socialism have SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER LIFE EXPECTANCY RATES as those parts which have been under primarily capitalist systems.

Same goes for Russia – much worse, thanks to socialism.

Islam also seems to generally have a negative effect, from the way I read it.

Not sure how they would do that. We certainly do have lower lifespans than some but it is in large part to diet and other habits. There may be a genetic component too perhaps? Remember, moonbats don’t consider kids to be people but you do make a good point. Not saying moonbats came up with these numbers, by the way.

You would have to count the first day of life as the day of conception for that to work, anyway. Not that I’m against that – hell, I’m FOR it.

  12. Bob Roberts says:

The doomsday fears are based on misinterpretations of the Mayan calendar

Just as calls for “gay marriage” are based on misinterpretations of what marriage is.

Just as fears of “global warming/climate change” are based on misinterpretations of weather, temperature and climate.

    Bob Roberts

With all due respect to your brilliance and tenacity, it would help you to understand that your postings have changed dramatically over the last year.

From opinions and commentary – and after you helped boot lao – you have moved from not only presenting the news (with your generally wizened and erudite opinions), to outright declarations regarding the veracity of a subject.

IMHO, if you’re going to present the news, you have the ethical right to include an opinion, but not the right to include absolute judgment.

i.e.: You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

For instance: You say, “Things are going to get very ugly in Egypt.”

My questions are, “How do you know?” “Why would you place that negative thought in the minds of independent thinkers?” and, “Why, when you are presenting the news, would you offer the reader the answer to the news you present, before they read it?”

    That is what MSNBC does.

I don’t believe it would be fair of you to say other posters also do it – of course they do – but they aren’t the main supplier of news on this site, as are you.

Bob, you do a yeoman’s job here – and it’s well respected.

Plus it is obvious from the facts on the ground the “socialist” “Muslim Kenyan” (HIS words, not mine) achieved re-election through significant voter fraud in multiple states. Why we don’t do something about it is beyond me.

  29. Bob Roberts says:

You know, it’s funny what moonbats support.

Take their love of socialism. They’re always talking about socialist paradises in Europe, though I note they live here, not there.

Well some of the countries they single out as proof socialism is superior are Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and the U.K.

Putting aside it can be argued those are not true fully socialist countries, all of those are hereditary monarchies.

    Talk about “the 1%”!

I’m clueless ? This from you guys who used to believe in Dick morris’ Romney landslide victory ??? oh dear, you guys are too funny.

Sure voter fraud, keep on repeating that, perhaps your alternative universe will someday come true.

It’ll be hilarious once you finally accept reality and get behind a real “RINO” nominee that will make Romney look like Reagan by comparison.

  31. Bob Roberts says:

Moonbats continue to try, yet fail, to assert there’s something unusual, different about the weather.

Issac and Sandy were major storms…

    … so they say…

Technically, both did not meet the definition of “major” hurricanes.

Sandy’s punch was based on other factors like where it hit, other weather it combined with, that it came in at high tide, etc.

By all accounts, our economy should be booming.

    Who’s to blame?

And yet they get re-elected. Go figure.

Obama and the Democrats are fighting to prevent this:

Last month the well-respected International Energy Agency declared, “A new global energy landscape is emerging . . . redrawn by the resurgence in oil and gas production in the United States.” Within eight years, the America is expected to be the planet’s largest producer of oil. By 2030, we’ll be producing more than we need — exporting, not importing.

It’s uncomfortable to admit this, but Sarah Palin had a point: The key to American energy independence is “drill, baby, drill” — or perhaps more correctly, “frack, baby, frack.”

This article sums up the Cognitive Dissonance of moonbats with regards to the Israel situation.

That sort of disinformation is dangerous.

They leave out that Israel’s responses are ALWAYS just that, RESPONSES to unprovoked aggression from terrorists.

Look who has a significant stake in the Keystone Pipeline!

Should Susan E. Rice, the United Nations ambassador, be nominated for Secretary of State, one issue likely to arise during confirmation hearings, aside from the lethal attack on the American Mission in Benghazi, Libya, is her large stock holdings in TransCanada, the company seeking an American permit to build the proposed the Keystone XL pipeline.

Yeah, that and the Constitution are such bothersome things, eh?

At least 69 of those EC votes were likely the result of election fraud.

Landslide? Try 1984 – Reagan got 525 electoral votes.

    THAT was a landslide.

    In 1980 he got 489.

    THAT was a landslide.

Bush I (HW) got 426 in 1988. THAT was a landslide.

By comparison, Carter got 297 in 1976, Clinton got 370 in 1992 and 379 in 1996. Obama got 365 in 2008 and LESS, 332, in 2012.

As to the life expectancy thing, you have to include infant mortality. The US does badly in comparison to others because we count the death of an infant (intentional or not) as soon as it’s born, while others give them a grace period. Apples to apples, I’d bet we would be on the next level.

Obama driving the economy off a cliff

Obama used to talk about the Republicans putting the economy in a ditch – even though it was SOCIALIST MEDDLING that caused that, not capitalism, not conservatives, not Republicans. So Obama’s answer is to drive the economy off a cliff.

Obama did worse, going from 365 to 332.

Bush GAINED ground despite a massive media campaign to crucify him. Obama LOST ground despite a massive media campaign to canonize him.

Yeah, and the two women who I had in one of my places were lesbians.

    Or so they claimed.

There’s a reason they’re not in my place any more.

I can’t have sex with my tenants.

Even if they do claim to be lesbians.

Which only goes to prove how sexual preference is indeed a choice, and can change.

But that’s a whole different argument.

Like Rodri, they CLAIMED a specific sexual orientation, but their ACTIONS proved they were lying.

What “100% straight” person chooses to live in a gay DISTRICT…

  50. Bob Roberts says:

International fugitive and alleged eco-terrorist Rebecca Jeanette Rubin turned herself in on the U.S.-Canada border after a decade on the run, in what authorities are calling the largest eco-terrorism case in U.S. history.

Wait a minute – does she have a ‘stache? It appears so.

The charges against Rubin include a Nov. 30, 1997, arson at the U.S. Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse and Burro Facility in Harney county near Burns and the Dec. 22, 1998, attempted arson at the offices of the U.S. Forest Industries, Inc., in Medford. She’s also accused of involvement in the Oct. 19, 1998, arson attack that destroyed the Two Elk Lodge and other buildings at the Vail ski resort in Eagle County, Colorado.

Rubin faces federal charges in California as well in the attack Oct. 15, 2001, of the Bureau of Land Management Wild Horse and Burro Corrals near Susanville, Calif.

In August 2007, 10 other defendants were sentenced to prison terms from about three to 13 years after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court in Eugene to conspiracy and multiple counts of arson. Two defendants — Joseph Mahmoud Dibee and Josephine Sunshine Overaker — are still at large.

“…..also, since you brought it up, I live in a gay discreet with a gay roomate but I am 100% straight, definitely more than you, who brings up homosexuality in completely unrelated discussion.”

Obviously Rodri has a bias against gays – otherwise why would he insinuate that being “outed” as “gay” is some sort of insult?

As Jerry Seinfeld used to say, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that….”

Also, why are the people in Rodri’s Gayborhood so heterophobic? They feel the need to declare the area a “Gay District”, which is bigoted and exclusionary to heterosexuals. What’s next, separate water fountains for queers and heterosexuals? “Separate but Equal”? Sounds like discrimination to me.

Rodri is obviously not in touch with his gender and sexual identity, and is “acting out” against heterosexuals.

But, alas, all of this started because I tried to reach out and be inclusive – and Rodri reacted like the hater that he is, hurling supposed insults about everybody else. Typical.

With regards to Obama’s “landslide”, it was no such thing. The nation is more deeply divided under Obama than it has been since the Civil War.

Regardless of how Obama got to be named President, when is he gonna quit trying to circumvent the duly elected Legislature and quit trying to go around the law and the Constitution? When is he actually going to start BEING President, instead of just perpetually campaigning, blaming Bush, blaming the Tea Party, blaming the Republicans, etc.?

The Obamacrats claimed they have all the answers, instead all we get is hate, blame and obfuscation.

Anything over 50% is a majority.

I know math can be brutal sometimes
As of November 1, 2012, the population of the U.S. was estimated to be 314,861,000.

Of that number, 65,258,278 voted for Obama.

20.7% voted for Obama. “Most” people, 79.3%, chose not to vote, or to vote for someone else, rather than vote for Obama.

Math can indeed be brutal sometimes.

Rodri says: December 1, 2012 at 8:53 am

Again, more voter fraud. Even in the implausible case that there was voter fraud, how do you know it was the democrats who did it and not some knucklehead like you ?
Yeah, “some knucklehead like me” voted for Obama.

We’ve already covered clear incidents of voter fraud here. As long as it is tolerated it will continue.

Obama fiscal proposal ‘classic bait and switch’

“What [Obama] proposed this week was a classic bait and switch on the American people—a tax increase double the size of what he campaigned on, billions of dollars in new stimulus spending and an unlimited, unchecked authority to borrow from the Chinese,” Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said in Saturday’s weekly GOP address.
“Maybe I missed it but I don’t recall him asking for any of that during the presidential campaign. These ideas are so radical that they have already been rejected on a bipartisan basis by Congress.”

She didn’t have to do that. There’s enough mercury in tuna all she had to do was feed him a daily, regular diet of the stuff and toxicity could follow.

Correction to my December 1, 2012 at 12:42 pm post:

I did not account for the part of the population below voting age, so I have to correct for that:

Of the total population, approximately, 251,888,800 are eligible (by age) to vote so, using that number and the number that voted for Obama, we find that approximately 25.9% of the voting age population voted for Obama.

74.1% chose to vote for someone else or not at all. A slight improvement in Obama’s favor over my last calculation, which was admittedly about 5% off as noted.

Poverty is just as much a function of costs as it is income
Libs incessantly demand tax increases to level “income inequality” while their policies directly cause the costs of the big three, housing, education, and health care to massively rise
Liberalism is the cause of poverty, not the solution.

They should add one word to make it the “Methodist Church’s 8th Annual Peace and SOCIAL Justice Banquet”. The Methodists are sinking further and further into Satan’s trap. They have embraced social justice, gay marriage, and abortion; they don’t support Israel; they don’t teach miracles or healing; and they discourage people from reading their own Bibles, for fear that their followers will learn the truth.

My mother has always been a Methodist. She NEVER reads the Bible and the only time I ever heard “Jesus” mentioned in the house, when I was growing up, was when it was used as a curse word. I believe that it would be better not to attend a church, than to go to one that teaches lies and blasphemy!
