Doesn’t it strike anyone as disingenuous that the Moonbats would call for more gun control laws in a place where it was already banned / controlled by law…

As I’ve pointed out (as have others) their answer for the obvious failure/backfiring of “gun free zones” is to expand said zones to infinity, thus assuring everyone everywhere is at the mercy of any lunatic who manages to get a gun.

They’re not talking about eliminating guns and indeed they cannot do that.

They’re just talking about ensuring that the only people who have guns are criminals and ensuring that every law-abiding citizen everywhere will be guaranteed to be at their mercy.

    Others here put it best:

When seconds count the authorities are minutes away.

I have a funny (well, not so much perhaps) take on this one:

Leading Middle Eastern cultural figures and academics have warned that the arts of the Arab spring are under threat because of increasing violence, censorship and lack of political vision.

Now I don’t know, but the LGBTQ community claims to have somewhat of a lock on our “arts” here and there is some (but admittedly not conclusive) evidence to back that up. I’m fairly certain, from several of my contacts with music, television and movie people that there is a clear form of reverse discrimination (gays who have positions of power favoring other gays over straights whenever they think they can get away with it, which is most of the time) but it’s not necessarily true that a MAJORITY of those in “the arts” are gay, just a much larger number than their representation in the general population.

Which gets to my point. Could it be that those in the “arts” in Egypt are worried that the radical islamists in control are going to start frog-marching them to their deaths?

I mean, is this what it’s going to take here to stop the pernicious advance of the gay agenda?

    I hope not.

Couple Accused Of Slapping Elderly Best Buy Employee

HINT: Her name, one of the slappers, is “LaToya”.

Police say she began shouting obscenities at the 61-year-old Fairview Heights Best Buy employee at the exit door. Her husband got into the act and smacked the man across the face, sending him down to the ground while his wife didn’t flinch and kept the curse words flying.

OH, a BONUS Guess the Race/Ethnicity! HINT: The color of his skin matched his work uniform to some degree.

FEDEX delivered Christmas present stolen by – get this – UPS employee!

Wednesday, he and his wife Sandra Alverson were expecting two Christmas gifts that they had purchased online to be delivered, but when they got home, one of them — delivered by Federal Express — wasn’t there. They thought it was strange because the delivery company emailed them a notification confirming the package had been dropped off earlier that morning.
“It said it was delivered at 9:29 a.m.,” Al Alverson said. “So I go up and I have a DVR with all the cameras on it to take a look.”
And sure enough at 9:29 a.m. he clearly saw his iPad Mini being delivered. He continued to search the video and at 1:15 p.m. he saw the family’s second holiday gift delivered by UPS, but two minutes later, the UPS employee returns.
“I said, ‘oh my god,’ it is the UPS guy,” Alverson said.
And he was right. Dressed in the familiar brown uniform, the video showed the driver returning and taking the FedEx package sitting by the front door with the iPad Mini inside.

The story even has a happy ending:

The company said he was a seasonal worker who was hired just to deliver packages during the holidays and promptly fired him. UPS also said the Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrested him Thursday. He was charged with theft.

His girlfriend, if he has one, is going to be one lonely ho ho ho!

You’ve probably already heard about this one:

Ex-Marine Jon Hammar back on US soil after release from Mexico prison

Since I live right here essentially minutes from the Mexican border, since several news stories and clear signs make it obvious to anyone crossing into Mexico they take a hard line on guns AND they’re pretty corrupt, arresting people on very questionable grounds clearly just so they can shake them down (almost happened to me once, but when they realized I wasn’t drunk and it would not go smoothly they backed off) anyone who crosses into Mexico with a weapon, even if they think it may be legal, just barely, in Mexico really should expect trouble.

I felt bad for this guy, but really, he brought this on himself in a way.

Still, I’m glad he’s been released.

People here (at MOONBATTERY) were all over this even before it caught on nationally. Who knows, the things YOU said and did may have helped reach this conclusion so great work, if so.

Connecticut Shop Where Nancy Lanza Bought 1 Of Her Guns Raided By Feds

You can’t win when the gun grabbers need a scapegoat.

All indications are Thursday’s raid was not directly related to the Newtown massacre investigation, but, as Besthoff reported, it was related to several other crimes committed at the store, including the recent theft of an AR-15 and the attempted theft of a .50-caliber long gun, both by a man with mental illness, Besthoff reported.

Yeah, first, no connection at all with the recent shooting. Just a coincidence one of the guns purchased by the shooter’s mom happened to come from that store.

What the FVCK is up with that?

You know what? I’ll answer my own question.

Knowing they won’t do what needs to be done – admitting that gun free zones are a failure and allowing more concealed carry at will – they had to do something showy to prove they were concerned, that they were doing something.

So they raided the gun shop TO DO AN INVENTORY CHECK.

And that helps prevent crazy people from killing others how?

  10. Bob Roberts says:

p.s. – they also need to start allowing open carry at will, too.

That would actually work even better.

    Statistically speaking…‏

In 2005, 11,346 persons were killed by firearm violence and 477,040 persons were victims of a crime committed with a firearm. African Americans were victims of an estimated 805,000 nonfatal violent crimes in just one year alone, overwhelmingly Black on Black Crime.

Statistically speaking, Blacks are more likely than guns to be involved in Violent Crime.

The Solution is simple – BAN BLACK PEOPLE

Get behind the ban today for a safer America!!

“They’re not talking about eliminating guns and indeed they cannot do that…”

They may not be talking about eliminating all guns Mr. Roberts, but you can bet your life that’s exactly what they mean. Their ultimate goal is a British-style ban. They will start with “assault weapons”, then move to “semiautomatics”. Does that mean only “non-assault weapons” and muskets will be allowed? I’ve been around guns all my life, yet i don’t know what a “non-assault” weapon is.

  14. DeafPatriot says:

They’re ALL assault weapons!!! My nephew was shooting at me with a NERF gun last week, and I demanded that his father confisicate it immediately and place him under detention in his room for a re-education to indoctrinate him that only I’M allowed to shoot at people with NERF guns.
Reality is I wanted to buy him a Red Ryder BB gun for X-Mas (He’s 8) but my brother said he told Luke that he’d have to behave with a NERF gun and shoot only at targets if he wanted an Airsoft or BB gun. I guess it’ll have to wait until next year.

BloomBORG Organizes Celebrities To Push For Huge Gun Grab

Since when does a mayor of any town, large or small, determine national policies?

BloomBORG needs to mind his ow backyard. He could start by patrolling the local movie theaters to make sure noone’s drinking too much soda or eating too much popcorn and leave the rest of us alone. I left NY for a REASON, mike and you’re IT. By the way.. they sure close both eyes when it comes to marijuana use in the movie theaters of New York! Add to that the latecomers, sneaking in from other movies and their noisy babies and the the babblers.. much different from watching with a well-mannered crowd in the much-maligned flyover areas of the country!

    Bottom line:

This illegitimately elected meddlesome megalomaniac is in dereliction of his duties. I demand a RECALL election NOW.

  22. Ummah Gummah says:

    @ Ghost of FA Hayek

Interesting post. They do that in NY already. Limbaugh gets audited every year by NYS and he hasn’t lived there in tears. They’re still trying to shake loose a few extra coins.. in fact he has to prove each and every year that he wasn’t there or how little time he spent there. He said it’s not only him they’re auditing either. I have a feeling they are spending more money on auditing ex-NYers than this program actually brings in. Yet another example of money well-spent by the government.

Btw.. I refer to NY, CA et al as the Bankruptcy Belt States.

In a united message, the stars recount our nation’s horrors—from Columbine to Virginia Tech to Aurora—and point out the need to request new legislation be passed to protect us all.

Or did I miss Obama appointing them as anti-gun spokesmodels.. err.. czars?

Last time I checked it was supposed to be one man – or woman – one vote.

Oh yeah, I forgot.. vote early, vote often, vote liberal.. up to a 140% turnout in some places with not a single vote for the challenger! Not even in NK, iran or egypt..

No wonder that a bunch of overpaid Hollywood entertainers can feel anointed to tell the rest of us what we can or cannot do.

That list of celebrity anti-gun morons, is a perfect example of what misplaced guilt will do to people. I would say that most of the females on the list have likely had at least one abortion – several have bragged about them. Many of the men have likely been party to abortions. There are a number of celebrities on the list who have been reported to have committed adultery. The common thread is that none of them appear to be walking with God and thus they have that “misplaced guilt”. They don’t understand forgiveness – for themselves or others – so they fall for any cause that comes along that makes them feel better about themselves. The problem is, that these causes they support are often more evil than their sins.

  26. Stephan the Original says:

Jodie’s comment about assuaging guilt is exactly right. This is mainly about godless people seeking to feel better about themselves. In this case they convince themselves they are smarter than the founders who were obviously stupid to draft the Second Amendment, as absurd as that is… in fact most moonbattery can be explained by this purely emotional motivation.

Would somebody be able to comment to this – A guy I am arguing with elsewhere is convinced that a government with its sophisticated tools (drones, etc.) would now overcome any citizenry, regardless of wealth of numbers – but I said to him I doubt it when all the citizenry would be armed and potentially be everywhere. Didn’t Vietnam prove that?

Number of women dying from legal abortions doubles

The Centers for Disease Control released new national abortion figures [the week of November 18] and the mainstream media has essentially ignored the fact that the number of women dying from legal abortions has doubled.

Americans United for Life President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest called the news of a historic 5% drop in the abortion rate, released by the Centers for Disease Control on the eve of Thanksgiving, “a real cause for giving thanks.”

Nevertheless, the pro-life leader noted that reporting on the new data has not included a more somber data-point: the number of abortion-related maternal fatalities doubled in 2008, the most recent year data is available.

“The CDC report documents the death of twelve women following their abortion,” said Yoest. “That number is double the deaths reported the previous year and it’s the highest since 1994.”

Those legal abortion deaths continued this year as a young African-American woman, Tonya Reaves, died following a botched legal abortion she obtained at a Planned Parenthood facility in Chicago.
