    Dawkins humiliated.

A fossil reported in Nature Magazine and promoted by evolution scientist Richard Dawkins as an important “missing link” for seals turned out to be a simple otter.

Dawkins, in his never ending quest to disavow creation and intelligent design, wrote, “The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution,” “Puijila neatly straddles the gap between land and water in the ancestry of pinnipeds. It is yet another deligthful addition to our growing list of ‘links’ that are no longer missing.”

Make no mistake, this in no way DISPROVES evolution just as it doesn’t prove creation or intelligent design.

As I have noted, I went to an excellent lecture here at UCSD which provided overwhelming evidence that the theories of creation, intelligent design and evolution actually support each other – they are NOT mutually exclusive.

  6. Bob Roberts says:

    Unintended consequences?

No, you can bet this was actually intended. And it’s going to hit the lower and middle classes the hardest!

Supermarket owners argue a pending federal food-labeling rule that stems from the new health care law would overburden thousands of grocers and convenience store owners — to the tune of $1 billion in the first year alone.
Store owner Tom Heinen said the industry’s profit margins already are razor thin. “When you incur a significant cost, there is no way that that doesn’t get passed on to the customer in some form,” he said.
The rule stems from an ObamaCare mandate that restaurants provide nutrition information on menus. Most in the restaurant industry were supportive of the idea, but then the FDA decided to extend the provision to also affect thousands of supermarkets and convenience stores.

  7. Bob Roberts says:

Now all we need is to link this company to Obama/Democrats.

Bloom, a manufacturer of solid oxide fuel cells, has been paying 14 workers brought to the United States from Chihuahua, Mexico less than $3 per hour for refurbishing work performed at the company headquarters in Sunnyvale.

The Department of Labor told KPIX 5 that the employees were skilled workers and they were in the United States on visitors’ visas, which does not allow them to work.

According to a press release from the Labor Department, Bloom Energy brought the workers in from Mexico to refurbish power generators alongside U.S. workers. Federal investigators found that the workers were paid in Mexican pesos the equivalent of $2.66 per hour. The FLSA requires that covered, nonexempt employees be paid at least the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour for all hours worked. California minimum wage is $8 per hour.

Watch, they only went after them because they may wind up being non-supporters of Obama and Democrats. Wouldn’t surprise me.

An Oregon man is suing the U.S. Government and a female IRS agent he alleges pressured him into sex, by threatening a tax penalty.

    Solar superstorm imminent?

Does this surprise ANYONE? called out Senator Harry Reid for being doubly wrong in his claim that Congress has already cut $2.6 trillion from projected future deficits by reducing non-defense programs alone.

The site explained that not only did the legislation he referred to applied to both security and non-security spending, but that a considerable part of the deficit reduction came from tax increases and not spending cuts.

The worst part? The senator made the same erroneous statement twice. Reid made the affirmations on ABC’s “This Week” on Feb. 3rd, were he also added that further deficit reduction should include more tax increases and cuts in military spending.

And of course, had the character touched their kids they’d be suing for some sort of sexual/inappropriate touching…

Obama, Carney walk away from media questions about kill policy

President Barack Obama today walked away from a roomful of journalists, leaving Jay Carney to evade numerous media questions about the administration’s semi-secret, closed-door process of killing American citizens who are tied to jihad.

The numerous questions were prompted by the release late Monday of the administration’s legal brief explaining why it has the legal and presidential authority to kill overseas Americans in al-Qaida, even without a trial or public due process.

Colorado Democrats look to make gun manufacturers liable for damage done by assault-style weapons

On Tuesday, Colorado Democrats unveiled a sweeping package of gun-control legislation that even some Democrats think goes too far, according to the Denver Post.

Among the measures to be debated in the coming weeks are bans on ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds; universal background checks for all gun purchases, including private transactions; tighter monitoring of potential gun buyers with mental health issues; and — most controversially — a bill that would hold gun companies liable for damage caused by assault-style weapons.

Right now any stupid moves by CO democrats might still be undone in the courts. But that chance is fading fast, particularly if Obama gets to replace a conservative, or semi-conservative USSC Justice.

Sorry to disagree with you, but ‘…WRONG…’.
The scientific evidence when looked at indicates evolution of one ‘kind’ of animal to another is impossible. And biblically speaking, God made every living creature after its own kind. Believe what you want, but as a Bible believing Christian, man was created by God as man, not as pond scum…

Apart from that I like your posts….

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Evolution does not claim that one animal gives birth to another. Evolution is a process by which, among the many negative changes which we can see all around us in any population, a few small positive changes also occur and, in time, tend to favor those that have them, ensuring their eventual dominance. That this happens isn’t conjecture, it’s proven fact. Misrepresentations of evolution by those who think to admit it has some valid points means we have to deny creationism or intelligent design are hasty and incorrect.

I guess, just as they’re allowed to say “ni&&er”, they’re also allowed to dress up in KKK uniforms?

In 2013, no one expects to see a man dressed in a Ku Klux Clan robe mid-morning in Center City, Philadelphia.

“I think that’s nonsense,” said one woman on the street.

“He needs to be committed to the jail system,” said another onlooker.

The man, who stood on the corner of 13th and Filbert on Tuesday, is not out to lynch or kill black people. In fact, he is black.

“We’re bringing awareness to the black hypocrisy, complacency and apathy in the African-American community,” said King.

In this case, I fully agree!

A “whole multitude” of issues rise with these type of restaurants, Ockman said. Among them, safety.

The restaurants need to provide enough security so that customers don’t get too close to the servers, Ockman said. They must also ensure employees feel safe when leaving at the end of their shifts and not feel threatened by customers, she said.

I can see serving alcohol, or those who’ve just come from a drinking spree, to be a problem.

  20. Sam Adams says:

I consulted the Book of Genesis last evening regarding this evolution debate. It states:
Genesis 1:26 ¶And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And then in Genesis 2:4 ¶These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 ¶And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed….

Can I make a couple of observations?
    1. The creation appears to have been in at least two parts; Genesis 1 states that God created man and woman in his own image, blesses them and tells them to be fruitful and multiply. Then in Genesis 2, he creates a man, creates a garden for him to live in, and creates a woman for him.

Now, as an engineer, this sure looks like God designed man and woman first, and then actually created them her on earth.

    2. This whole description of the creation is the crib sheet version of events. There isn’t enough detail provided to know how God actually did anything.

    3. God placed the “breath of life” into man. I call that his spirit. It is the essence that separates man from the other animals. Personally, I think that is the major difference between us and the other animals, not larger brains, not opposable thumbs, not pockets where we can store our car keys.

    4. You can take the Bible just as literally as you wish; the fact is that the account of the creation was written several thousand years after Adam passed on this information to his children. My great-granddad may have told his son how to rebuild a V-8 engine, too, but I haven’t received very much useful information from him. Maybe that’s because my dad never rebuilt a V-8 engine, therefore, the details didn’t matter that much to him, or maybe he didn’t understand everything he was told. In any case, all I got from my great granddad was “take the motor out of the car, fix it, then put in back in.”

  21. Bob Roberts says:

Regarding creation, keep in mind I accept it. I just caution those who try to take too literal an interpretation of perhaps flawed in translation or even in recording version of how it came about. Expecting people who lived thousands of years ago, who passed down ancient stories by word of mouth before they were ever ‘written’, to be able to give a scientifically valid account of how we came to exist here is really beyond belief. I’m not saying “don’t believe it”, just understand how it came to say what it says and despite what it says, it’s not ‘wrong’, it’s just not acceptable to claim it disproves what science tells us.

Convenient for Panetta, who was leaving anyway, to provide cover for Obama.

This way he won’t have to worry about it causing him grief when he tries for a third term in 2016.

    Moonbats occasionally get it right.

For the wrong reasons perhaps, or using the wrong tactics, but when moonbats gum up the efforts of moonbats I do smile.

    Second Amendment justified, again.
