I couldn’t help but note Keith ‘Over-the-top’ Olbermann has a whole hour to himself on EPSN2. When I say ‘to himself’ as far as I’m concerned he may as well be talking in a closet in his mother’s basement – he may have a better audience. After his over-the-top pro-Obama/anti-American rants on MSNCB for all those years – I know what he thinks and who he is. You wanna pay me $1k to watch him? Give the money to your church – I will not have him on my TV.

  4. TED says:

    http://bayourenaissanceman.blogspot.com/2013/08/perspectives-on-nsa-scandal.html Excerpt:

”According to leaked internal documents from the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) that Die Zeit obtained, IT experts figured out that Windows 8, the touch-screen enabled, super-duper, but sales-challenged Microsoft operating system is outright dangerous for data security. It allows Microsoft to control the computer remotely through a built-in backdoor. Keys to that backdoor are likely accessible to the NSA – and in an unintended ironic twist, perhaps even to the Chinese.

”The backdoor is called “Trusted Computing,” developed and promoted by the Trusted Computing Group, founded a decade ago by the all-American tech companies AMD, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, and Wave Systems. Its core element is a chip, the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), and an operating system designed for it, such as Windows 8. Trusted Computing Group has developed the specifications of how the chip and operating systems work together.
    . . .

”Now there is a new set of specifications out, creatively dubbed TPM 2.0. While TPM allowed users to opt in and out, TPM 2.0 is activated by default when the computer boots up. The user cannot turn it off. Microsoft decides what software can run on the computer, and the user cannot influence it in any way. Windows governs TPM 2.0. And what Microsoft does remotely is not visible to the user. In short, users of Windows 8 with TPM 2.0 surrender control over their machines the moment they turn it on for the first time.

”It would be easy for Microsoft or chip manufacturers to pass the backdoor keys to the NSA and allow it to control those computers. NO, Microsoft would never do that, we protest. Alas, Microsoft, as we have learned from the constant flow of revelations, informs the US government of security holes in its products well before it issues fixes so that government agencies can take advantage of the holes and get what they’re looking for.

”Experts at the BSI, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Federal Administration warned unequivocally against using computers with Windows 8 and TPM 2.0. One of the documents from early 2012 lamented, “Due to the loss of full sovereignty over the information technology, the security objectives of ‘confidentiality’ and ‘integrity’ can no longer be guaranteed.””

Pretty soon there might be something ELSE in the SF moonbats’ water.

There has to be SOMETHING in it already. They can’t be that moonbatty without SOMETHING causing it, right?

A raging wildfire in Yosemite National Park rained ash on the reservoir that is the chief source of San Francisco’s famously pure drinking water, and utility officials Monday scrambled to send more water toward the metropolitan area before it becomes tainted.

Nearly 3,700 firefighters battled the approximately 230-square-mile blaze, the biggest wildfire on record in California’s Sierra Nevada. They reported modest progress, saying the fire was 15 percent contained.

Crowd for the great one circles town?

Did I read that right? It circled the town?

Maybe New York, or at least Long Island, isn’t so lost to moonbats as some of us thought?

Apparently in some places it’s illegal to feed the homeless.

Apparently the issue is nobody cleans up after them – excessive litter.

yeahRITE! This is the case wherever homeless people squat, all the time. It has nothing to do with feeding them except they tend to ‘roost’ near where they know they will be fed.

The Raleigh (North Carolina) Police Department threatened to arrest members of a nonprofit religious group while they fed the local homeless population this past Saturday, according to a spokesman for Love Wins Ministries. Rev. Hugh Hollowell, pastor and Director of Love Wins, said that volunteers from his group were handing out coffee and sausage biscuits to several dozen homeless in downtown Raleigh when the police arrived.

Student admits to posting anti-Islam fliers and Nazi flags around liberal college – claims it was a ‘provocative joke’

The student, detained after allegedly being seen posting anti-Islam fliers in the college’s Science Center Feb. 27, denied involvement in other, earlier racist postings.

yeahRITE! And as he chose a liberal college, odds are he’s a liberal perhaps hoping to create some anti-conservative bias? Create more alleged incidents of conservative bigotry? What was his next move – anti-gay postings?

No, really, to all you moonbats out there, I really mean this, I want an answer: Should we be more like Europe, the Dutch, for instance.

When Lodewijk Asscher, deputy prime minister of the Netherlands, this month warned that migration from eastern Europe threatened his country’s wages and social welfare policies, he had people like Viktor in mind.
Viktor, who does not want his real name to be published, left his native Bulgaria three years ago to come to the Netherlands. In his home country, Viktor, a logistical engineer, earned €350 a month as head of an emergency response unit at the national railway company. In the Netherlands, he works as a handyman, making up to €100 cash a day – less than his Dutch counterparts – and paying no taxes or social insurance.

Wait, he sounds like an OBAMA VOTER!

Except he’s apparently actually working, trying to do something for himself. He’s different in that way.

There were only seven million people in Bulgaria, and two million have emigrated since the fall of communism.

The Netherlands once boasted of its history as an asylum for immigrants, such as the refugee Jews and Protestants who flocked there in the 16th century.
But over the past decade, it has been wracked by debates over assimilation, with the rightwing populist Geert Wilders denouncing the country’s Muslim immigrants, mainly ethnic Moroccans and Turks. More recently he has turned his fire on immigrants from eastern and central Europe, setting up a controversial website last year to solicit complaints about their behaviour.
Such attacks play on fears that eastern Europeans are prone to crime and compete for Dutch jobs, driving down wages, particularly for unskilled labour. With the Netherlands in the midst of a year-long recession and unemployment up from 4.4 per cent in 2010 to 7 per cent, such concerns have sharpened.

Yeah, same here. Blacks are having a tough time of it thanks to the policies of Obama and the Democrats.

But wait – what is the far left talking about there?

    America, a Changed Land

Back in the “good old days” when life was relatively normal as compared to today–things were different.

Maybe they weren’t the same days Archie and Edith reminisced about when they sang, “Boy the way Glenn Miller Played/Songs that made the Hit Parade/. . . Didn’t need no Welfare state/Everybody pulled his weight/. . . Girls were girls and men were men./Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again,” but they were definitely not what they are like in 2013.

Back then–the post World War II period through the early 1960′s–they weren’t exactly halcyon days: We still had the misbegotten Korean War and the ever-present threat of the USSR which almost daily threatened to nuke us back into the Stone Age, thanks to the rocket and nuclear technology they had stolen from us. Thankfully, schoolkids at the time were shielded from Russian ICBM’s: Quietly hiding under our desks and in hallways, we were provided less protection than those well-stocked air-raid shelters in select cities where people would almost surely perish in the event of an all-out Russian attack.

Nevertheless, back in those “good old days” things were mostly better, far from perfect, but mostly better.

Back then, the vast majority of Americans worked for their living or stayed home and took care of their own children; people lived and let other people live pretty much as they wanted to live, as long as they weren’t bothering anyone else; most of us spoke English or if people were new to the country they learned our native language; public schools actually taught, though kids weren’t always happy to be there; universities were reasonably-priced and involved themselves with preparing students for their futures; the media were generally trusted to honestly print and broadcast the day’s news; people had a fundamental respect for those who governed us, even if we didn’t fully trust them; crime existed as always but was usually under control; hatred reared its hateful head yet was never condoned; and immigrants were welcomed to our country because they had immigrated here legally.

And, except for the ever-present liberal-leftist radicals whom America generously tolerated living and conspiring in our presence, most residents seemed to accord a modicum of respect to our country even if they didn’t love it.

Then things began to change, radically . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=32556.)

Two more facts Al Gore and his disciples will utterly fail to grasp:

Slowest start to a hurricane season on record despite Obama’s proclamation (based on his studies at the CHOOM INSTITUTE) that golbal warming is causing more and more serious hurricanes.

As we approach the end of August, there have been no Atlantic hurricanes. By this date in the year 1886, there had already been seven hurricanes – including three major hurricanes, one of which wiped the city of Indianola, Texas off the map. Obama’s presidency has also seen the fewest US hurricane landfalls of any president. Three hurricanes have hit the US while he was in office, compared to twenty-six while Grover Cleveland was in office. FDR tied his record! Any comment, FDR in Hell? Eleanor? What is it about Democrats and hurricanes?

    Then there’s this:

“Farmers’ Almanac” predicts a “bitterly cold” winter

I know, it’s only a prediction. But read the last (bolded) bit below:

The Farmers’ Almanac is using words like “piercing cold,” “bitterly cold” and “biting cold” to describe the upcoming winter. And if its predictions are right, the first outdoor Super Bowl in years will be a messy “Storm Bowl.”

The 197-year-old publication that hits newsstands Monday predicts a winter storm will hit the Northeast around the time the Super Bowl is played at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands in New Jersey. It also predicts a colder-than-normal winter for two-thirds of the country and heavy snowfall in the Midwest, Great Lakes and New England.

“We’re using a very strong four-letter word to describe this winter, which is C-O-L-D. It’s going to be very cold,” said Sandi Duncan, managing editor.

Based on planetary positions, sunspots and lunar cycles, the almanac’s secret formula is largely unchanged since founder David Young published the first almanac in 1818.

Modern scientists don’t put much stock in sunspots or tidal action, but the almanac says its forecasts used by readers to plan weddings and plant gardens are correct about 80 percent of the time.

10-Year-Old Girl Accused Of Raping 4-Year-Old During Game Of ‘Doctor’

A 10-year-old girl is facing rape charges from playing an alleged game of “doctor” with a group of children from her housing complex.

The girl, who is only identified as “Ashley,” was charged by police for aggravated sexual assault.

In April, Ashley was among a group of children who were playing doctor, KRIV-TV reports. A neighbor saw the children and called the mother of a 4-year-old boy who was also playing in the group.

Houston police say that Ashley was inappropriately touching the 4-year-old boy.

“I’ve never dealt with a child this young being accused of a crime,” Quanell X, who is working with Ashley’s family, told KRIV. “In fact this was nothing more than inappropriate horseplay that has now led to a child that is 10-years-old being charged with aggravated rape.”

Ashely was held for four days in the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center in June.

Ashley’s mother calls the situation a “nightmare.”

So much to say about this one…

But I’m going to let it speak for itself.

New Jersey’s law unfairly imposes lifetime alimony on them. If they fail to make payments, like the $78,000 a year Schochet owes his ex-wife in alimony, they can be jailed for contempt of court regardless of whether they have a job or resources.

Figures this is in moonbat land.

In states such as New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida where divorce laws are based on century-old notions of what an ex-spouse deserves, laws are being proposed to limit alimony in recognition of wives’ earning power and the changed economic circumstances husbands can face.

Florida, you might ask? Remember, there are a lot of Democrats there, too. Remember 2000? They couldn’t figure out their own butterfly ballot!

Burma: Buddhist Mobs Burn Down Muslim Homes and Shops

    The Guardian, August 25, 2013

Fresh sectarian violence broke out in north-western Burma late on Saturday when Buddhist mobs burned down dozens of homes and shops following rumours that a young woman had been sexually assaulted by a Muslim man. There were no reports of injuries.

Myanmar’s radical monk Wirathu, whose anti-Muslim rhetoric has placed him at the centre of rising religious violence, said on his Facebook page that hundreds of people took part in the riot on the outskirts of Kantbalu.

A crowd surrounded the police station demanding that the suspect be handed over, said a police officer from the area, who asked not to be named because he did not have authority to speak to the media.

When police refused, they started setting buildings on fire, he said.

About 35 houses and 12 shops, most belonging to Muslims, were destroyed before calm was restored, he said.

Predominantly Buddhist Burma has been grappling with sectarian violence since the country’s military rulers handed over power to a nominally civilian government in 2011.

More than 250 people have been killed, most of them Muslims, and 140,000 others forced to flee their homes.

    Congress Should Veto Obama’s War

    by Patrick J. Buchanan

“Congress doesn’t have a whole lot of core responsibilities,” said Barack Obama last week in an astonishing remark.

For in the Constitution, Congress appears as the first branch of government. And among its enumerated powers are the power to tax, coin money, create courts, provide for the common defense, raise and support an army, maintain a navy and declare war.

But, then, perhaps Obama’s contempt is justified.

For consider Congress’ broad assent to news that Obama has decided to attack Syria, a nation that has not attacked us and against which Congress has never authorized a war.

Why is Obama making plans to launch cruise missiles on Syria?

According to a “senior administration official … who insisted on anonymity,” President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons on his own people last week in the two-year-old Syrian civil war.

“Neither the Security Council nor Congress nor NATO nor the Arab League has authorized war on Syria.”

But who deputized the United States to walk the streets of the world pistol-whipping bad actors. Where does our imperial president come off drawing “red lines” and ordering nations not to cross them?

Neither the Security Council nor Congress nor NATO nor the Arab League has authorized war on Syria.

Who made Barack Obama the Wyatt Earp of the Global Village?

Moreover, where is the evidence that WMDs were used and that it had to be Assad who ordered them? Such an attack makes no sense.

Firing a few shells of gas at Syrian civilians was not going to advance Assad’s cause but, rather, was certain to bring universal condemnation on his regime and deal cards to the War Party which wants a U.S. war on Syria as the back door to war on Iran.

Why did the United States so swiftly dismiss Assad’s offer to have U.N. inspectors—already in Damascus investigating old charges he or the rebels used poison gas—go to the site of the latest incident?

Do we not want to know the truth?

Are we fearful the facts may turn out, as did the facts on the ground in Iraq, to contradict our latest claims about WMDs? Are we afraid that it was rebel elements or rogue Syrian soldiers who fired the gas shells to stampede us into fighting this war?

NOTE: The woman who proposed this bill is from San Diego.

Nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives and physician assistants could perform a type of early abortion under a bill approved Monday by the state Senate, leaving the measure one step from the governor.

The measure by Assemblywoman Toni Atkins, D-San Diego, would let those medical professionals perform what are known as aspiration abortions during the first trimester. The method involves inserting a tube and using suction to terminate a pregnancy.

The Senate approved AB154 on a mostly party-line, 25-11 vote, sending it back to the Assembly for a final vote on amendments.

Finally, note how the government is releasing the data to try and insinuate it’s Bush’s fault?

Check the comments – nobody is buying that.

Here I fix it to put the blame where it belongs:

The number of U.S. households with an unemployed parent and a child under 18 living at home soared under Obama and the Democrats in Congress, a Census Bureau report says.

The report titled, “America’s Families and Living Arrangements: 2012” says that there were 2.4 million households in 2005 with an unemployed parent and at least one child under 18 near the close of the Bush administration. By 2011 that number had grown 33 percent to 3.2 million under Obama and the Democrats in Congress, the Census Bureau said Tuesday.

“During the recession, economic well-being worsened for families with children. Home ownership among families declined, while food stamp receipt and parental unemployment increased. Even after the Democrats and Obama falsely proclaimed that the recession officially ended in 2009, these measures remained worse than before it began,” said report co-author Jamie Lewis, who is a demographer in the Census Bureau’s Fertility and Family Statistics Branch.

Defense Department guide calls Founding Fathers ‘extremist’

A Department of Defense teaching guide meant to fight extremism advises students that rather than “dressing in sheets” modern-day radicals “will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place,” and describes 18th-century American patriots seeking freedom from the British as belonging to “extremist ideologies.”

The guide comes from documents obtained by Judicial Watch and is authored by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute, a DoD-funded diversity training center.

Under a section titled “extremist ideologies,” the document states, “In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements. The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples.”

Besides a brief reference to 9/11 and another to the Sudanese civil war, the guide makes no mention of Islamic extremism.

The guide also repeatedly tells readers to use the Southern Poverty Law Center as a resource in identifying hate groups. The SPLC has previously come under fire for its leftist bias and tendency to identify conservative organizations such as the American Family Association as hate groups.

In August 2012, an attempted terrorist attack occurred at the Family Research Council, another conservative organization the SPLC has branded a hate group. FRC president Tony Perkins said the SPLC’s designation prompted the attack, stating the gunman “was given a license to shoot … by organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center.”

In a statement, Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton slammed the Department of Defense documents for what he described as their bias against conservatives.

“The Obama administration has a nasty habit of equating basic conservative values with terrorism. And now, in a document full of claptrap, its Defense Department suggests that the Founding Fathers, and many conservative Americans, would not be welcome in today’s military,” said Fitton. ”And it is striking that some the language in this new document echoes the IRS targeting language of conservative and Tea Party investigations. After reviewing this document, one can’t help but worry for the future and morale of our nation’s armed forces.”
