Nicholas Joseph Gutierrez had to be released because California law bars authorities from holding a suspect in custody for more than 48 hours without presenting the case to prosecutors, a spokesperson for the LA County Sheriff’s Department said.

There appears to be no question that they have the right guy and that it was deliberate. But Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva needs an air-tight case before he can present it to ultraliberal DA George Gascon, who has made it clear that he is there to protect criminals and oppose law enforcement. Gascon was installed in office by George Soros, the only person who has been giving more to Democrats than even Sam Bankman-Fried.

In another case involving an SUV, presumably tolerant liberal Shannon Brandt was released on absurdly low bail after allegedly murdering teenager Cayler Ellingson with his car for being a Republican. We must need common sense SUV control.

At least SUV killer Darrell Brooks, who deliberately drove through a Christmas parade, killing six and injuring more than 60, is behind bars. The black supremacist received life, after denying life to his victims. At the current rate of societal decay, the 40-year-old should live long enough at taxpayer expense to receive a full pardon.

According to NYPD’s latest crime statistics, burglaries and grand larcenies were up more than 31% and 41% respectively, while robberies have seen an increase of 35.5%, compared to the same time last year.

Last year crime rates were already stratospheric in New York and nationwide.

Republican campaign ads have enraged liberals by calling them on it. Will Bunch of the Philadelphia Inquirer says drawing attention to crime is “vile” and “racist.” Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot got this ad pulled for showing what has been going on in Chicago:

But Pritzker and Lightfoot have not been able to suppress public awareness of how fellow thugs have exploited the carte blanche offered them by liberal rule. Crime has emerged as a major issue in the midterms — and people know who to blame for it.

In contrast, Republicans offer solutions. They are outnumbered more than two to one in New York, yet Lee Zeldin is running neck and neck with incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul. Zeldin says he will immediately declare a state of emergency to combat crime:

“I’m going to suspend New York’s cashless bail laws and some other pro-criminal laws that have been passed, force the legislature to come to the table to negotiate an improvement because we have to take back our streets.”

He plans to remove Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for refusal to enforce the law. Like George Gascon (Los Angeles), Kim Foxx (Chicago), Larry Krasner (Philadelphia), Chesa Boudin (San Francisco), and Kim Gardner (St Louis), and Marilyn Mosby (Baltimore), Bragg was placed in office by sinister leftist financier George Soros.

Weather Underground scion Chesa Boudin has been recalled. The rest need to follow. But to properly clean house, Democrats must be pried from power.

Motorists flooded the intersection and blocked traffic with their vehicles from all directions to create a “pit” in the middle of the intersection. During the incident, spectators exited their vehicles and watched as motorists recklessly drove in a maneuver known as ‘doing donuts.’ …

The spectators then formed a ‘flash mob’ of looters and rushed a nearby 7-Eleven located at the northwest corner of Figueroa Street and El Segundo Boulevard. Video surveillance from the store showed the looters fanning out across the store and grabbing all the snacks, drinks, cigarettes, lotto tickets, and other merchandise. Looters also vandalized the store and threw merchandise at employees. The looters then exited the store to the surrounding parking lots and streets, and quickly dispersed before police arrived.

This open contempt for law and order is a predictable result of the liberal establishment’s embrace of Black Lives Matter ideology and war on local law enforcement. Lawlessness has been greatly facilitated in cities like Los Angeles, where George Soros has installed an openly pro-criminal district attorney who will see to it that, in the unlikely event any looters are arrested, they will not be prosecuted.

George Gascon recently survived a recall effort because the authorities rejected over 195,000 petition signatures. Soros-appointed maniacs have subverted DA offices throughout the country (e.g., Alvin Bragg [Manhattan], Kim Foxx [Chicago], Larry Krasner [Philadelphia], Kim Gardner [St Louis], Marilyn Mosby [Baltimore]).

If police do attempt arrests, they are likely to be accused of racism. If any culprits succumb to a fentanyl overdose while resisting, officers will receive the Derek Chauvin treatment.

The leading figure in the political opposition has his home raided by FBI goons on a fishing expedition for anything that can be construed as evidence of a crime, while large mobs loot stores secure in the knowledge that they will not face consequences. Voters in progressive San Francisco on Tuesday overwhelmingly supported the recall of Chesa Boudin, the city’s radical left-wing district attorney, two years after he was elected on a platform that emphasized reducing the jail population and prioritizing “restorative justice.”

“Restorative justice” is Liberalese for mollycoddling criminals.

Boudin’s platform could be summed up as “F the Police.” This was fashionable as the Black Lives Matter riots raged, but less so now that the media-manufactured mania had died down and people are waking up to the inevitable effects of wokeism, which include rampant crime.

Boudin’s liberal credentials are impeccable. He worked as a translator and advisor for Hugo Chavez, whose ruination of Venezuela has served as the primary template for the Democrat agenda. Born into moonbattery, he is the offspring of Weather Underground terrorists Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert. He was named after cop-killer Joanne Chesimard (aka Assata Shakur), the patron saint of Black Lives Matter, who now resides in communist Cuba.

Because his parents were incarcerated for killing two police officers and a security guard during a robbery, he was raised by two other Weather Underground terrorists, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. These same two terrorists launched the political career of Barack Obama from their Chicago apartment.

Boudin gave voters what they asked for:

He ended cash bail, stopped prosecuting drug-possession cases stemming from “pretextual” traffic stops, stopped using “enhancements” to extend prison sentences for convicted gang members, and stopped prosecuting so-called quality-of-life crimes — things such as prostitution, public camping, public defecation, and open-air drug use. Supporters of the recall say that sent a message that San Francisco was a consequence-free place to engage in low-level crimes, which simply encouraged more crime in the city generally.

By implementing the Broken Windows theory in reverse, Boudin helped make San Francisco into the uninhabitable hellhole it is today.

In 2021, a year that saw nearly 500 people in the city killed by a worsening fentanyl crisis, Boudin’s office didn’t convict a single person of dealing the drug. They chose instead to emphasize diversion programs and lower-level “accessory after the fact” charges, in part to protect immigrant drug dealers from deportation…

As with Biden, his administration has been a case study in applied liberalism.

That even left-wing San Francisco would overwhelmingly vote to oust one of the progressive-prosecutor movement’s leading figures shows just how much the nation’s mood has changed over the past two years as rising crime has plagued big cities across the country.

What are our rulers in the Democrat Party/mainstream media complex learning from this? Not a thing. Intelligencer honked in advance that if Boudin were to be recalled, it would be because San Francisco isn’t liberal after all. These kooks will continue to double down.

Pierre Kendrick, 34, is charged with attempted first-degree murder related to an unrelated warrant issued on Feb. 2.

On the morning of Feb. 24, Daytona Beach police officers were called to the Waffle House located at 329 Seabreeze Blvd. in response to a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, they located a woman with multiple injuries to her hand and head. She told them she was the victim of an unprovoked attack by a man who was unknown to her.

He was arrested at his apartment a few days later.

He also faces several other drug and weapon charges.

Virtually all of the violence we are drowning in is committed by sociopaths who have committed other crimes and should already be in jail. But the trend in the legal system nowadays is to let criminals run loose. Regardless of his individual circumstances, that is why there are so many people like Pierre Kendrick on the streets.

The consequences are too easily predictable not to be deliberate, even if the ultimate motives of those responsible remain unclear. Too bad we can’t get a straight answer from George Soros, who has spent $millions installing pro-criminal district attorneys (e.g., Alvin Bragg [Manhattan], George Gascon [Los Angeles], Kim Foxx [Chicago], Kim Ogg [Houston], Larry Krasner [Philadelphia], Chesa Boudin [San Francisco], Kim Gardner [St Louis], Marilyn Mosby [Baltimore]).

According to officers, a review of security camera video showed the victim and suspect sitting together in a booth and talking. The suspect then got up and began to talk to others in the restaurant. Officers said the suspect then walked back to the victim, pulled a machete out of his pants, and began to strike her repeatedly.

Looks like the victim was white, suggesting a possible racial justice motive:

As it looted stores, burned neighborhoods, and destroyed statues of our national heroes, Black Lives Matter soaked up tens of $millions from woke corporations and liberal dupes. The fools who flung cash at self-described Marxists like high–living Patrisse Cullors never asked where the money was going, despite BLM being a shadowy organization that does not even have a known central location:

The nonprofit organization listed a nonexistent address on its 2019 IRS 990 form, and a visit to the similarly named address listed on a credit monitoring report (which has the same street number but a different spelling for the street and the wrong ZIP code) came up empty.

BLM’s lack of address came to light while the Washington Examiner was trying to obtain the organization’s tax returns for 2020. It was eventually told that Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation does “not maintain a permanent office.”

At least some of the money has been tracked down. Maybe BLM will open a main office in Toronto:

Canadian Black Lives Matter activists are furious over the group’s recent $8.1 million cash purchase of a mansion in downtown Toronto that once served as the headquarters of the Communist Party of Canada.

The U.S. charity that serves as the face of the BLM movement provided the bulk of the funding for the purchase of the 10,000-square-foot property in July.

Instead of answering the questions of volunteer activists, BLM Canada tried to get them to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

Meanwhile, board members decline to say who controls BLM’s $60 million bankroll:

BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors appointed two activists [Makani Themba and Monifa Bandele] to serve as the group’s senior directors following her resignation in May amid scrutiny over her personal finances. But both quietly announced in September that they never took the jobs due to disagreements with BLM. They told the Washington Examiner they don’t know who now leads the nation’s most influential social justice organization. …

And neither would say who served on the council. …

The two remaining BLM board members, Shalomyah Bowers and Raymond Howard, did not return numerous requests for comment asking who has been in charge of BLM and its money since Cullors left the charity in May.

Bowers appears to be an experienced social justice grifter:

Bowers served as the treasurer for multiple activist organizations run by Cullors, including BLM PAC and a Los Angeles-based jail reform group that paid Cullors $20,000 a month and dropped nearly $26,000 for “meetings” at a luxury Malibu beach resort in 2019.

“Like a giant ghost ship full of treasure drifting in the night with no captain, no discernible crew, and no clear direction.”

A Los Angeles County judge on Thursday ordered Hannah Tubbs, a transgender California woman, to serve two years in a juvenile facility after [he] pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in 2014.

Two years in juvie is pretty mild for molesting a 10-year-old — especially when a guy gets to serve it in a female facility.

Before doing so, the judge criticized far-left District Attorney George Gascon, whose office declined to prosecute the repeat offender as an adult.

George Soros is getting his money’s worth out of the pro-criminal maniac George Gascon, one of many leftists for whom Soros has purchased this office (other examples include Alvin Bragg [Manhattan], Kim Foxx [Chicago], Larry Krasner [Philadelphia], Chesa Boudin [San Francisco], Kim Gardner [St Louis], and Marilyn Mosby [Baltimore]).

Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami does not sound happy:

“There was evidence presented at the juvenile proceedings which showed that Tubbs sexually assaulted two young girls in different incidents in the past. The child victims will suffer lifelong trauma. Tubbs also has prior violent convictions and conduct as an adult.”

Too bad Gascon is calling the shots rather than Hatami.

Because Tubbs began identifying as female after [he] was taken into custody, and Gascon refused to try [him] as an adult, Tubbs was sentenced to two years in a juvenile facility. In L.A. County, juvenile facilities can house both females and males, but in separate areas. Tubbs will be housed with the females. …

Gascon told the LA Times he was concerned Tubbs could be victimized in an adult facility as a trans woman and said a probation report recommended [he] be sentenced to home confinement.

With liberals, compassion is for the criminal, not for his victims.

Fumes Hatami:

“James Tubbs will not have to register as a sex offender, will not spend any time in county jail or state prison, will be 26 and housed with juveniles for a very short period of time, and will be released with no probation or parole monitoring. The victims will get no justice. The public will get no safety.”

After habitual criminal Darrell Brooks was released on $1,000 bond despite having just jumped bail, he deliberately drove through a Christmas parade, killing six and injuring 62. The liberal establishment might have taken this opportunity to reappraise its policy of releasing violent criminals onto the streets. Instead, it downplayed and then buried the story. The insanity continues.

Devonne Marsh has been charged with a particularly heinous crime: setting fire to his girlfriend who is pregnant with twins.

Like civil rights icon Jacob Blake, Marsh appears to have a penchant for domestic abuse.

The woman, who could barely move, suffered burns to over 60% of her body, according to police. … Authorities say the soon-to-be mom was 27 weeks into her pregnancy with twins.

No doubt the root cause of Marsh’s behavior is racial inequity, so there is no point locking him up. After all, criminals are the real victims, according to progressive doctrine.

Marsh, 42, was arrested and charged with kidnapping/abduction, aggravated/felonious assault, and violation of the controlled substance act. Despite having a lengthy criminal record, his bond was set at $50,000 or 10%, meaning he could get out of jail if he is able to post $5,000 bond.

Like Darrell Brooks, Marsh is likely to jump bail:

According to the Michigan Department of Corrections, the suspect has been hiding out since he absconded from probation out of the Macomb/Mount Clemens office in March 2020.

Nonetheless Marsh, was allowed to walk out of jail on Friday after posting $5,000 bond:

Marsh’s girlfriend, 26, remains hospitalized in critical condition, and it is unclear whether the babies will survive. She was reportedly too afraid to come forward and report the crime but a tip led authorities to the scene and she is currently cooperating with the investigation.

Now might be a good time for her to take out life insurance.

Letting maniacs like Devonne Marsh loose on minimal or no bail is consistent with the policy of liberal DAs throughout the country (e.g., Alvin Bragg [Manhattan], George Gascon [Los Angeles], Kim Foxx [Chicago], Larry Krasner [Philadelphia], Chesa Boudin [San Francisco], Kim Gardner [St Louis]).

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has previously supported bail reform, although she did try to get Marsh’s absurdly low bail increased.

When he inevitably kills someone, the media will hush the story, no matter how lurid it may turn out to be. Devonne Marsh doesn’t fit the liberal establishment’s profile of a menace to society.

Most of those killed in the ensuing violence will be nonwhites, whose lives count for more according to the ideology of our ruling class. Yet again, we see that this ideology is a lie.

A receipt for Soros’s purchase comes in the form of a memo from Bragg to his staff. The New York Post summarizes:

• Armed robbers who use guns or other deadly weapons to stick up stores and other businesses will be prosecuted only for petty larceny, a misdemeanor, provided no victims were seriously injured and there’s no “genuine risk of physical harm” to anyone. …

• Convicted criminals caught with weapons other than guns will have those felony charges downgraded to misdemeanors unless they’re also charged with more serious offenses. …

• Burglars who steal from residential storage areas, parts of homes that aren’t “accessible to a living area” and businesses located in mixed-use buildings will be prosecuted for a low-level class D felony that only covers break-ins instead of for more serious crimes. …

• Drug dealers believed to be “acting as a low-level agent of a seller” will be prosecuted only for misdemeanor possession.

Considering the ongoing crime wave that has inevitably followed the Black Lives Matter riots and Democrats’ defunding of police, this is the worst possible time to lighten up on crime — unless the objective is to create more mayhem.

The woman, dressed all in black, was seen walking in the Venice Beach store on Lincoln Boulevard about 3 p.m. on Wednesday with the garden tool slung over her right shoulder and pulling a shopping cart behind her.

Unless they prosecute her for armed robbery — which is doubtful in George Gascon’s Los Angeles — this was just a misdemeanor, meaning it would not be worth the police’s trouble to arrest her even if she were to turn herself in.

At this point, society exists so that people like that can loot it. The welfare state has succeeded so well, it is hardly needed anymore. The class it produced can do the looting personally.

Meanwhile, pro-crime maniacs George Gascon and Chesa Boudin are still the district attorneys of Los Angeles and San Francisco, respectively, guaranteeing that criminals will continue to enjoy open season on businesses. “The overall problem is a challenge — the brazenness of some of these crimes,” San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said Wednesday. “When they see these things go viral, the perception of lawlessness, the perception that anything goes — that has to be overcome, too.”

The only solution is to remove leftists from positions of power. But the current demographics of California make that impossible, thanks to the mass emigration that transformed the state that launched Ronald Reagan into a moonbat dystopia. The same is becoming true for the country as a whole, with millions crossing the deliberately undefended border.

2020 was annus horribilis for most of us, but it was a great year for Black Lives Matter, especially in Los Angeles, which this radical movement is rapidly transforming into another Detroit:

More wins for the bad guys:

L.A. City Council agreed to slash the [LAPD]’s budget by $150 million. L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti first announced the idea after BLM-LA led a massive demonstration outside of his residence on June 2.

Intimidation works in the sort of country this is becoming. At least it does on people who are sympathetic to the intimidators.

The L.A. Board of Education quickly followed suit, reducing the L.A. School Police Department’s budget by 35%, which equated to a $25 million cut. BLM-LA had spent more than five years organizing students, parents, and teachers against the district’s police force, which is tasked with protecting more than 600,000 students enrolled in the nation’s second-largest public education system.

BLM also went after the LA County Sheriff’s Department, with the ballot proposal Measure J:

Its passage requires at least 10% of the county’s general fund be appropriated to community programs and alternatives to incarceration, but Sheriff Alex Villanueva and police unions said it would defund public safety. LASD operates the nation’s largest jail system.

Leftists have already managed to largely empty neighboring Orange County Sheriff’s Department jails onto the streets.

Despite Garcetti’s willingness to cave to outrageous demands by BLM terrorists, BLM-LA’s lead community organizer Melina Abdullah claims that her organization blocked him from a Biden cabinet position. If so, this may be the first good thing ever to come of Black Lives Matter.

She also noted a series of Black LA Demands related to the COVID-19 pandemic as another important achievement from 2020, along with the formation of BLM Grassroots, which was established to aid local chapters’ organizational needs.

Alarmingly, BLM racists aren’t the only ones to racialize the coronavirus response.

Lastly, Abdullah recognized BLM-LA’s annual Black Xmas campaign, which asks allies to refrain from spending money with white corporations from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day.

Christmas is the season for hating white people. Racial animosity hasn’t been this explicit since they closed down Auschwitz. Yet it is those brave enough to oppose Black Lives Matter who get whacked with the “RACIST!” club.

With liberals taking charge, it’s a great time to be a criminal. Los Angeles County DA George Gascon will see to it that even the most violent sociopaths get parole. Congresswoman-elect Cori Bush (D-MO) is asking Joe Biden to grant clemency to everyone on death row, and has the identity politics credentials to get her way. Overweight criminals in particular will be in the clover:

The bill to free all the fat criminals, sponsored by Rep. Tlaib, Rep. Lee, and Rep. Pressley, and co-sponsored by Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Omar, and eight other Democrats, and endorsed by Black Lives Matter, calls for a mass jailbreak to protect criminals from the coronavirus.

Readers will recall that Judge Peter Wilson recently used the same ChiCom virus excuse to order half the inmates of Orange County jail set free, fortunately receiving some resistance from Sheriff Don Barnes. It’s part of a nationwide phenomenon, as liberals stoke chaos by releasing criminals onto the streets while reducing funding for police.

The Dismantle Mass Incarceration for Public Health Act, introduced by Rep Tlaib, would “require States and units of local government to certify a commitment to release certain individuals from jails and prisons” and their list includes anyone who’s over 55 years old, unhealthy, or obese.

“Mass incarceration” is the latest liberal boogeyman. The way to fight it is not to prevent crime, but on the contrary to set criminals loose, knowing that this will produce more crime.

Tlaib’s bill would strike a mighty blow against America by unleashing hordes of criminals.

DOJ statistics show that about half of federal and state inmates have some sort of chronic condition: 15% have asthma, 10% have heart problems, and 9% have diabetes. All of these conditions are on the Squad’s jailbreak bill’s release list. With over 2 million prison inmates, if these statistics hold up, between 200,000 to 680,000 criminals could be set loose.

As for being obese,

Over a quarter hit the obese [body mass index] numbers. That would mean freeing at least half a million fat criminals.

As an added bonus, the bill would free any criminal who has reached the age of 55.

The unabomber, the BTK killer, and the Son of Sam, all of whom are still in prison today, and over the age of 55, would qualify.

The pretext for this lunacy is that if we don’t free criminals, they may die of the Wuhan virus. Actually,

So far 149 federal inmates, out of 124,538 total, have died from the virus. …

More people get shot in Chicago by criminals in one weekend than the total number of criminals who have died of the virus in custody.

The bill would also release criminals who are mentally ill. In the olden days, mental illness was a reason to lock people up, not to set them loose. But that is impractical now, given that anyone who votes for Democrats would arguably qualify.

Other aspects of the bill would free pretty much everyone else who is beyond bars. Anyone deemed unlikely to assault other people gets freed. The disabled get freed, with “disability” including health issues that cannot be disproven, like back pain. Any illegal alien held on an ICE detainer gets freed.

Essentially, the bill calls for prisons to be emptied. We have nothing worse to fear from the maniacs who would be freed than we do from the maniacs in Congress.
