Portland Public Schools Ban Material That Could Undermine Global Warming Hoax

It isn’t enough to incessantly ram global warming propaganda down children’s throats instead of teaching them science. Any information that undermines leftist climate ideology must be banned:

In a move spearheaded by environmentalists, the Portland Public Schools board unanimously approved a resolution aimed at eliminating doubt of climate change and its causes in schools. …

The resolution passed Tuesday evening calls for the school district to get rid of textbooks or other materials that cast doubt on whether climate change is occurring and that the activity of human beings is responsible. The resolution also directs the superintendent and staff to develop an implementation plan for “curriculum and educational opportunities that address climate change and climate justice in all Portland Public Schools.”

“Climate justice” refers to the explicit use of the global warming hoax to justify coercive wealth redistribution.

Bill Bigelow, a former PPS teacher and current curriculum editor of Rethinking Schools, a magazine devoted to education issues, worked with 350PDX and other environmental groups to present the resolution. …

In board testimony, Bigelow said PPS’ science textbooks are littered with words like might, may and could when talking about climate change.

Such words must be abolished. Uncertainty can no longer be allowed in science. Once it was about asking questions, but now that leftist ideologues have all the answers, it is the role of science to support these answers, distorting objective reality as necessary.

Forgotten in his grave, Galileo whispers once again, “And yet it moves.”

Maybe they could just teach the kids to burn those pesky books just to show how much they despise opposing opinions. Does anyone remember what group tried to ban opposing thoughts? Wow, if I could only remember….

  2. Ed. G. Mann says:

Let me help you out with that group. It is called the Anti-Trump gang here at Moonbat Central.

  3. Tim Martin says:

Lets not forget that other group who suppressed opinions they don’t like.

  4. KHarn says:

    Oh, you mean the MUSLIMS.

  5. Tim Martin says:

    Well, them too

  6. Occam's Stubble says:

Here is how to scientifically prove human activity is causing climate change:

    1. Obtain a second Earth that is devoid of humans. Compare the two climates.
    2. Obtain a third Earth with humans but without the industrial revolution. Compare climates.
    3. Have several of your colleagues do the same experiment.
    4. If only the original Earth is experiencing climate change in all the tests, then human activity is definitely the cause.

If you can’t do that, all you’re left with is speculation.

Once their (already scientifically questionable) tree-ring proxies proved wholly unreliable (see: Climategate email leak), they’ve resorted to nothing more than “Because it IS, so shut up!”

  9. Spiny Norman says:

Project much? Why yes, you do.

  10. Sherman1864 says:

Now this is the kind of post I like. Good post. No anti Trump crap.

  11. Wilberforce says:

Leftist schemes like this always…always end up in pure Lysenkoism, like we see here. Well that, and a mountain of skulls, but at least the Leftist will have a nice smug feeling about his motives.

  12. Wilberforce says:

“You shall not question King Trump!”

  13. Ed. G. Mann says:

Read much? Only the Anti Trump comments. Anything else gives you a rash, doesn’t it.

  14. Spiny Norman says:

I read them all. The childish and abusive behavior of the Trump supporters/cultists is far more offensive than anything the man himself has said or done, and is the reason I’ve gone from maybe voting for him if he’s the nominee to not voting for President at all.

Before you go into the predictable “if you don’t vote for Trump, you’re voting for Hillary” rehearsed garbage, I live in a deep red district in a deep blue state, so my vote for President means absolutely nothing. I can vote or not vote with a clear conscience.

  15. Ed. G. Mann says:

So have I read them all. This site has gone from a place of great thought and discourse to a pit of delusion. The ‘Outer Limits” has more contact with current reality.

I’m a Libertarian; I might vote for Trump. If I do it will be the third time I voted Republican since I started voting in 1964. Goldwater then Reagan were those votes cast.

I think the all the mushwits spawned by the Lefty Boomers have put the Country in the barrel and lined the butthole up with the bunghole. It may be too late; Trump and Ryan, if they can get together and cut the ‘non-entitlement’ entitlements may start the welfare classes rioting looting and burning.

So what. They better save some cardboard for shelter because there won’t be any money to rebuild another ghetto. And for those mushwits, not more college debt, but no jobs either, no safe spaces and they better find a stick and learn to dig for roots and yams and stuff for lunch.

Still plying that “Libertarian” lie I see.

Let’s review what old Ed said about how his boy tRump should get his agenda in place once elected.

Executive fiat, just like Obama and defy Congress to go against the will of the people. – Ed. G. Mann 05/08/2016

Real “libertarian” there, old Ed. You are a liar and a fraud, just like your candidate.

  18. Tim Martin says:

The church has been suppressing opinions they don’t like since their inception and continue up to today, they just don’t have the power they used to.
Book banning s were still happening in the 70’s, so we are not talking 500 years ago.
By the way, I am as right wing as they come, I just do not believe in suppressing the truth even if I don’t like it.
That would make me a Progtard.

  19. Ed. G. Mann says:

And Trump is STILL the winner, NOT Cruz. Go mumble your trash somewhere else.

  20. Occam's Stubble says:

The email leaks also showed that they were blacklisting anyone who wrote a paper disagreeing. Gee, I wonder why 97% of climate scientists are on board.

  21. 762x51 says:

Did I mention Cruz? No Eddie, I didn’t.

Your boy hasn’t won squat yet except a plurality of a minority which is far different than a majority of the whole population.

I’m glad you enjoy the abuse because I enjoy slathering you in it.

  22. Ed. G. Mann says:

Shall we enjoy the Presidential election won by a plurality? Not too long ago, how about 1992. Who said pluralities don’t mean anything?
