Pro-AHCA Congresscritter: We Have to Pass the Bill so That You Can Find Out What Is in It

The ObamaCare 2.0 bill that Trump and Ryan are trying to ram through over the objections of conservatives is causing serious déjà vu:

Voter opposition to the Republican healthcare bill is the result of misunderstanding, and lawmakers will be able to “really explain it” once it becomes law, Rep. Chris Collins said Thursday.

Or as Nancy Pelosi said back in 2010, when it was Democrats who were forcing socialism down our throats:

In an attempt to intimidate the Freedom Caucus into compliance, Trump has proclaimed that the House must pass this atrocious bill today or he’ll let ObamaCare stand. At this point, that might be for the best. According to Quinnipiac, only 17% approve of Trump/RyanCare, and that number is unlikely to rise if it is passed. The only thing worse than leaving ObamaCare alone is rebranding it as the work of the GOP.

From what little difference I’ve read about, all they did was add an ‘H’ to the ACA.

  2. Tostig says:

It’s hard to fathom how any could be so tone deaf to repeat “We have to pass it for you to find out what’s in it”. Talk about a way to get this bill from 17 % approval to 0 % approval.

Isn’t Trump supposed to be a wicked smart negotiator? What the hell happened? Should’t they have focused on locking down a segment of the population to have strong support for this bill? Now they’ve got a bill everyone hates, with no base of support for it. That is really, really bad negotiating and politicking. Worrisome.

  3. Wilberforce says:

Gosh, if only someone had warned us during the primaries/caucus season…

  4. TrojanMan says:

“OF COURSE: Trump now publicly attacking the Freedom Caucus”

Call Your Congressman: Tell Him to Step Away From the American Health Care Act
Call your congressman at (202) 224-3121 and tell your congressman to step away from the American Health Care Act.
There are three things the House of Representatives could have done and did not do.
First, the House could have sent the Senate an actual repeal bill and let the chair rule that it was in order under the Byrd rule. That was the easiest and best option and could have gotten it through.

Second, the House could have used their 2015 legislation that they all supported as the framework for the new legislation.

Third, the House could have just passed the 2015 legislation that they all voted for originally.

  6. SNuss says:

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Republicans (RINOs) really ARE the “stupid party”.

  7. 762x51 says:

It’s almost like tRump is a Progressive, just like the majority of Retardlicans in Congress. Man I wish someone would have pointed that out BEFORE the election . . .

  8. 762x51 says:

Remind me, did I mention it then?

Good thing the Trumpanzees are mostly gone, I’m all out of bannanas.

  9. 762x51 says:

What happened is that tRump is the Progressive many of us identified him to be before November. Most refused to see it, preferring instead to shout louder in an effort to override reality with vitriol. The terminally stupid even ran campaigns to paint those who refused to support the treacherous Progressive Retardlicans as being Democrat or even Hitlery supporters which is so mindbogglingly ignorant as to defy description.

So power has shifted from D Progressives to R Progressives, over the next four years, guess what will change – NOTHING.

  10. 762x51 says:

Now if they would just get the H out of Congress . . .

  11. 762x51 says:

All of those points lead to the unavoidable conclusion that the Retardlicans were simply deceiving the voters all that time, that they never had the slightest intention of actually doing away with OBiteMeCare. The 50 plus votes they took to repeal it in the House, while Obama was still in office, were pure deception. They are every bit the criminals that the Demhiroids are, as predicted.

  12. 762x51 says:

The one thing even the most willfully blind and ignorant should get from all this is that the Retardlicans are just as much your enemy as the Demhiroids, because both are PROGRESSIVES. Some need to be hit over the head with a scenario before they can grasp it, well here ya go.

If you still don’t get it after this, you should just accept the fact that you are a dirty Progressive yourself.

  14. Torcer says:

“You go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time.”― Donald Rumsfeld

That might be the case but that is their identity now – so either they step up to the plate and follow through with their solemn promises or they get out of the way and let others do it for them.

  15. 762x51 says:

True, and the longer you wait to engage, the longer it will be before victory is achieved, the more casualties it will take to defeat the enemy and the less likely you are to win.

  16. Torcer says:

“If you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” — Winston Churchill

  17. 762x51 says:

Been all the way down that road.

I’ve been trained to fight with absolutely no chance for survival, to resist the worst things that can be done to me while in the weakest position I could ever be in, to never give up and never give in, regardless, and to fight until my last breath. We never surrender while the means to resist remains, survival is irrelevant. Doesn’t mean I can’t be captured, doesn’t mean I can’t be killed, just means I’m never going to exceed to the enemy demands.

Once you can overcome the enemy within, the enemy without really isn’t that tough.

  18. Torcer says:

In some ways it’s very disconcerting that many do not see the precious position we are in.

What would the American Civil war had been like if Nuclear weapons had been in the mix?

  19. 762x51 says:

Nukes? 600,000 dead with muzzle loaders. The war that is coming soon with just semi-auto weapons will easily produce a minimum of ten to twenty times that and I think more likely 100 times that number. Full military grade weapons will inevitably be taken from fallen police and military and be used as they are in any guerrilla conflict, thereby escalating the casualty rates. In conjunction with disease that follows all such conflict the death rate can easily grow at an exponential rate.

No man, bleak doesn’t begin to cover the immediate future.

  20. Torcer says:

Yes, even without that lovely aspect of a future war the onslaught from conventional weaponry will be devastating.
