Pushback Against Gauleiter Gretchen

Telling us that freedom is racist didn’t work. Now they tell us that freedom is bad for our health. When thousands of Michiganders pushed back yesterday against Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s arbitrary and tyrannical Wuhan virus decrees by creating a traffic jam around the state capitol with Operation Gridlock, she responded predictably:

“We know that this demonstration is going to come at a cost to people’s health,” Whitmer told reporters.

“We know that when people gather that way without masks, they were within close proximity, they were touching one another, that that’s how COVID-19 spreads,” she said.

She went on to blame the protesters for further restrictions she may impose in the future.

Stand up to tyrants and you risk reprisals.

Resistance to Gauleiter Gretchen does not stop at a traffic jam. Four sheriffs have announced that they will not enforce some of her decrees:

Sheriffs Mike Borkovich, Ted Schendel, Ken Falk, and Kim Cole of Michigan’s 101st District released a press statement Wednesday afternoon detailing what they said was their decision to place their oath to the Constitution above Whitmer’s wishes.

“We write today to inform the public for our respective counties of our opposition to some of Governor Whitmer’s executive orders. While we understand her desire to protect the public, we question some restrictions that she has imposed as overstepping her executive authority,” read the letter signed by each sheriff.

One petition to recall Whitmer has collected over a quarter of a million signatures.

The pushback needs to keep building. Many believe the objective of Whitmer’s ostentatious authoritarianism is to raise her profile as a vice presidential candidate, Michigan being a key swing state. Since the conspicuously senile Joe Biden is unlikely to finish or even start his term in a fully functional capacity if elected, we could all end up living under Whitmer and her whimsical mandates.
