Restricting Guns With Excessive Fees

Banning firearms would be a blatant violation of the Constitution. No matter; making it prohibitively expensive to own a gun is better anyway, because that way elitists can still defend themselves, while most of the deplorable bitter clingers are declawed:

New Jersey Gov. Philip Murphy, a Democrat, wants to dramatically increase the permits and licenses needed to buy and carry a firearm in his state. …

Under Murphy’s budget proposal, the firearm identification card will jump from $5 to $100, the owner’s permit will go up from $2 to $40, and the permit to carry, the largest increase, will go from $20 to $400. For all three licenses and permits, the price would increase by 2,000%.

Virtually everything Democrats do regarding guns is part of an incremental strategy, so if this flies, expect another 2,000% increase soon after, then another and another.

Murphy has also proposed increasing the cost of a retail gun dealer license 10-fold and raising the tax on gun sales.

Needless to say, these fees and taxes will not apply to criminals who acquire guns on the black market. Gun control isn’t for disarming criminals, but rather the reverse; it is for disarming law-abiding citizens.
