Robert Francis O’Rourke Promises Gun Grab

Good thing the preposterous campaign of Robert Francis O’Rourke has collapsed to the point that he polls worse than Buttwhatever. “Beto” confirms that were he to be elected, a major gun grab would follow.

Barks Robert Francis:

“Americans who own AR-15s, AK-47s, will have to sell them to the government. … I would institute a mandatory buyback of every assault weapon in America.”

A fully automatic AK-47 is an assault weapon. Owning one is already heavily restricted. If an AR-15 is an assault weapon, so is any semiautomatic rifle — i.e., any rifle that isn’t an anachronism.

The former Texas congressman [and current nobody in particular] has made gun control a focal point of his campaign since the mass shooting.

Like a lot of people, Robert Francis must have forgotten about Eric Swalwell, who based his campaign on the same tyrannical pitch. Swalwell has already dropped out, but Beto might get enough money from the Hollyweird types who find him appealing to keep his zombie campaign shambling forward for a few more months.

Even in Tinseltown, there are people wise enough to steer clear of Beto’s snake oil. This Clint Eastwood quote may be apocryphal, but it would make a fine response to Robert Francis:

“Participating in a gun buyback program because you think that criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbors have too many kids.”

Unfortunately, it isn’t just the punk from El Paso. At this point, any Democrat can be expected to escalate the incremental attack on the Second Amendment. Where the Democratic Party wants to take us, armed citizens would be problematic.

On tips from Lyle.
