Ronald Reagan’s Countermoonbat Humor

Remember when the president was actually likable? Here’s a reminder:

On a tip from Ben S.

  1. Father Confessor says:

You know he did a few things I did not like, but I NEVER thought of him as anything but a gentleman.

  2. IslandLifer says:

I was too young during his years as president to appreciate this. I sure do enjoy watching old clips of him, these are great! My has this country gone to shit fast.

  3. Give it up says:

Reagan couldn’t remotely get elected in today’s GOP. Raising taxes, compromising with the other side, and generally acting like he was occasionally sane are not gonna cut it with today’s teabilly party.

You have to give up your Reagan fetish – he hates you. And you hate him, and everything he accomplished. just… give up.

  4. Flu-Bird says:

Can anyone rmember how he was treated by the leftists media reptiles and especialy that idiot GARY TRUEDUE in his wretched DOONSBURY strip. Reagan was the first president i voted for

  5. Fiberal says:

Reagan couldn’t remotely get elected in today’s GOP.

    Give it up,

    No doubt about that.

The Stupid Party would not recognize Coolidge either. Not unless he came out wearing a rainbow armband, spouted off a few demeaning phrases about corporate greed, whined about “fairness” for an hour while reading a teleprompter speech written by Che Quevara.

Then he might have a chance to “remotely get elected” by today’s GOP sic.

BTW did you know that the War On English can affect cognitive processes?

  6. Fiberal says:

    Great stuff.

It seems to be a good idea in general, to roll hundreds of clips of RR on the Internet.

If only to remind the public that once the U.S. had a real president.

  7. Softly Bob says:

Reagan studied Communism and Marxism like a scholar. He believed in knowing your enemy. He knew about Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin and he knew what they stood for.
If he was President today, he would have read the Qu’ran and the Hadiths and he would have been kicking Muslim shit back into the desert!

  8. Kevin R. says:

    I sure do miss him.

Flu-Bird, me too. Wish I could vote for him again.

  9. jan says:

read reagan’s grand jury testimony in dark victory by dan molina also he gave his first speech after his 1980 gop nomination in philadelphia mississippi where the three civil rights workers were murdered. watch mississippi burning. to let the racists who had been kicked out of the democratic party that their white sheets and burning crosses were now welcome in the republican party! he would fit right in!

  10. improvementations enrichments are shit says:

Ahh…the 1980s when our family owned mutiple businesses and vehicles and had the nicest home in our circle. Those days are long gone. Fundamental transformations comrade.

  11. Fiberal says:

    jan,

Like I said to “give it up” (now just watching), the War On English can affect cognitive processes.

    No, seriously.

We think in terms of language. With defects in language, activity in the old frontal lobes begins to wane; leaving maybe a few vague emotional grunts and possibly an impression of a color every now and then.

That might explain “thoughts” like yours.

  12. Belfast says:

    Don’t give uo too soon.
Churchill was another such, and he said, “Americans will always do the right thing…., but only after they have exhausted the alternatives”.
And the Irish have a saying, tiocfaidh ár lá (pronounced chucky ar la) which means “Our day will come.”
It is the last thing Bobby Sands wrote in his diary before he died on hunger strike in a British prison.

  13. Mike_W says:

And that great generation were absolutely clueless about what the communists were doing to their children.

  14. G. Fox says:

Some of Reagan’s best quotes! The one at the 3:42 mark is a particular favorite of mine, but they are all golden

  15. IOpian says:

Interesting how the Democrat’s platform hasn’t changed at all other than getting deep enough that it has buried Detroit.
