Senator Bill Nelson Proposes Gun Database

The snarky authoritarians at Orlando Weekly are pleased to announce that Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) “has a fix” for the federal law prohibiting ATF from creating an electronic gun database:

[H]e’s filed a bill called the Crime Gun Tracing Modernization Act, which would give ATF up to three years to create a database that would include all records in its possession on the sale, importation, production or shipment of firearms.

Such a database will of course greatly facilitate mass confiscation when Democrats feel they have the political leverage to impose it.

On the downside, infringing upon our right to bear arms is unconstitutional. On the upside, commie-friendly teenage tyrant Emma Gonzalez barks that the bill is “Super Important”:

Orlando Weekly thinks it is Super Important too. If only those bitter clingers to the Constitution didn’t get in the way…

The Florida Legislature has previously concluded a list of gun owners could be “an instrument for profiling, harassing or abusing law-abiding citizens based on their choice to own a firearm and exercise their Second Amendment right.”

And by that the Legislature means: This is the best excuse we can come up with to not hold ourselves, and gun owners in Florida, responsible.

Don’t forget, moonbats: cowardly law enforcement, lack of school security, and failure to deal with red flag–waving violent lunatics has nothing to do with February’s school shooting elsewhere in Florida. Lawful gun owners and those who uphold their constitutional rights bear the responsibility.

On a tip from Lyle.
