Suspended for Objecting to Desecration of Remembrance Day

The primary impulse of progressives is to corrupt. They take something honorable and sacred, scrape the insides out, and fill it up again with something disgusting and depraved that advances their sick agenda. No better example could be found that the conversion of Remembrance Day (honored by Americans as Veterans Day) into an homage to sexual deviants by a Canadian high school. Acceptance of this warped travesty is mandatory, as students of Stonewall Collegiate in Stonewall, Manitoba learned when they expressed their objection to wearing pro-LGBT rainbow poppies.

Via The Post Millennial:

Cyara Bird of the Little Black River First Nation, who was on the ballot for the Churchill-Keewatinook Aski riding of northern Manitoba this past election, took to Twitter [last night] to express her anger after learning her cousin and another student had both been suspended for “hate speech” after rejecting the idea that rainbow poppies should replace the traditional red-and-black ones worn during their school’s Remembrance Day performance.

The young woman, who is half African-Canadian, asked instead to wear the red-and-black poppy traditional to the festivities, finding the rainbow poppy “disrespectful” to the World War 2 veterans in her family. Upon expressing her opinion, she and another student who shared her sentiment were sent to the principal’s office.

There Cyara Bird’s cousin Natalie Salisbury was aggressively denounced by educrats for committing “hate speech” and suspended until after Remembrance Day. When she tried to record the abuse, they confiscated her phone.

Natalie’s specific crime, according to the educrats, was not refusing to wear the obscene rainbow poppy, but rather committing hate speech by questioning whether subordinating Remembrance Day to the LGBT agenda is appropriate. She distributed a poster consisting of quotes she had collected from newspapers and social media. As you can see here, there was nothing offensive about the quotes. Here’s my favorite:

“you’ve got a whole month dedicated to the LGBTQ community, but the people who legitimately made a difference and died so that we could live decent lives have one day. You’s don’t need a poppy, you just clearly just want attention. One day to remember the real hero’s how about we don’t make it about your sexuality for once?”

Today’s lesson: the authorities want you to revere sexual perverts, not war heroes. Ideological noncompliance will not be tolerated. “Hate speech” equals dissident speech.

In the video below, Rebel News interviews Natalie and tries to extract information from the thought police. The latter demonstrate why they call the place “Stonewall”:

The Royal Canadian Legion confirms that altering the poppy signifies disrespect:

“The poppy is the sacred symbol of remembrance and should not be defaced in any way.”
