Tea Party Group May Finally Be Released From IRS Limbo

To all appearances, the Tea Party is dead. It has been displaced by populist progressivism, which is in many ways its opposite. Yet repression of the Tea Party by Obama’s weaponized IRS lives on:

The IRS is still targeting tea party groups for illegal scrutiny by refusing to process applications that have been pending for years, a federal court said in a ruling made public Friday, ordering the tax agency to quit stalling.

U.S. District Judge Michael R. Barrett said the IRS can still either approve or deny the Texas Patriots Tea Party’s application for nonprofit status, but the agency can no longer sit on its hands. And he said the IRS must give the application an honest evaluation without prejudice stemming from the yearslong targeting.

The Texas Patriots Tea Party applied for nonprofit status back in 2012 and has been hung up in legal purgatory by its ideological enemies in Big Government ever since. Even after admitting wrongdoing back in 2013, the IRS refused to process the TPTP application because the group had sued them.

Thanks to the ruling, TPTP may actually receive nonprofit status while a handful of people still remember what the term “Tea Party” means.

The empire has kept on striking back.

I believe it was 2009 when I carried my first TEA Party sign (that I had made myself). Now the TEA Party seems rather quaint.

  2. Occam's Stubble says:

I still meet with my Tea Party group and aspiring politicians still seek our approval because we’ve demonstrated an ability to GOTV and swing the election our way.

That said, the Tea Party’s greatest strength was its decentralization. That prevented it from becoming just another arm of the GOP establishment. Unfortunately, that was also its greatest weakness as everybody and their dog got to proclaim they were part of the Tea Party.

Now we are using words like the left with all disregard for their meaning..

may i ask how can it be “populism” when they have such horrid poll numbers in popularity? and how can it be progressivism when the lineage of the progressives go from day one all the way up through AYERS and the democrat party, etc…

the lid became the sid that became the weather underground who robbed a brinks truck to start a race war, and planted bombs for a progressive revolution in the US when a few of them died and nearly went to prison, they changed tactics and made good with the democrats whom norm thomas of the CPUSA said they would stop running candidates as they could not distinquish their party platform from the democrat platform.

other than fantasy wackadoodle stuff that even Dilberts creator can easily see through, its amazing how much left liberal press can take over the minds of even constitutaional conservatives in representing someone differently or one dimensionally than they are… (note that people who actually meet him do not say the same things as the press who is screwing with yoru head says)

Trump’s Tough Talk Inspires violence: Ask nevertrumpers if they have seen the Project Veritas video
of Clinton operatives talking about paying people to incite violence at
Trump rallies. The people on the video have been fired, and we haven’t
seen violence at Trump rallies since.

have you noticed that Clinton is soo desperate to win she is willing to blame russia then do what when she is in office? blow putin to make up for the bs she is pulling internationally to win nationallly?

Temperament: Nevertrumpers, have you seen the video of Clinton ranting “Why aren’t I already fifty points ahead?”
She looks either inebriated or deranged. People who
know Trump personally have reported that he is both smart and sane in
person. Even his enemies who know him personally don’t claim he has a
temperament problem. If he did, is there any chance we wouldn’t have
    heard about it by now?

heck, i met him three times as i did fashion week work and his daughters showed up… he is much like the Hiltons as a family (the children are not representative of the parents), and the Hearsts who i also know… the press is legendary for lying, misrepresentng, and on and on as Dave took the time to show, now that it ssays what he likes its ok they are still doing that… Because its the evil that is approved?

Trump might start a war: Trump owns buildings and property around
the world. As a general rule, people who own a lot of real estate don’t
start wars because their own assets are at risk
    . But Clinton
is “sponsored” – via the Clinton Foundation and speaking fees – by
defense companies that profit from war.

    Likewise, Clinton is sponsored
by foreign countries whose interests don’t align with American
interests. Clinton supported war in Iraq and Libya, and she threatens
Russia, just as the money trail suggests she would.

    Trump talks mostly
about having a strong military to avoid war. He gains nothing by war.

my favorite is that what you call flip flopping and all that is well known in the influence game as PRIMING/PACING

Pacing and Leading: When normal politicians change their minds we
label it flip-flopping or – more kindly – “evolving” in their thinking.
When a Master Persuader does it, you are seeing pacing and leading,
which is a major tool of persuasion. Pacing involves matching people –
in this case emotionally – and later using that bond to lead them. We
    see Trump doing this often.

I don’t have to listen to Hillary or the media to understand that Trump is not my kind of politician. I just have to listen to the man himself. His answer here shows him to be a Democrat at heart. This question did not come from a member of the media but from one our valued veterans. This was not “doctored” by the media. In fact, the media guy in it could not believe that answer was coming out of the mouth of the GOP nominee.

So don’t tell me I’ve been hoodwinked by Hillary and the media. I’ve been listening intently to Trump himself. I watched all the GOP debates. The man is long on big ideas but short on details. That makes him more like Obama in that he is a personality, not a man with a plan.

  6. ((( ExRepug ))) says:

An organization is allowed to operate as tax exempt while its application is pending. The Texas Patriots Tea Party has not been prevented in any way from doing business as usual. Hopefully it has complied with its legal obligation to file the annual Form 990 and has not engaged in prohibited election-influencing activities/spending.

  7. 762x51 says:

Notice how he says “security” not national defense. Security is what the government imposes on the internal population, national defense is what the government imposes on the enemy.

I love how he then presumes to lecture a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan on the dangers posed by the enemy. That is laugh out loud funny.

You are correct that tRump is a Progressive and if he was so sure he could beat Hillary, why didn’t he run AS a Democrat against her for that parties nomination?

  8. 762x51 says:

Same here, my first TEA Party rally was in April 2008 during the Bush 43 administration. I knew then that this ends in civil war but wanted to do everything I could to stop that from happening. Now it cannot be stopped but my conscience is clear.
