The Qualifications of the Obama Portrait Artists

If you have seen the new official portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama, you have probably wondered why they chose artists so conspicuously lousy:

Actually, both artists do have qualifications.

Amy Sherald, who painted something that vaguely resembles Michelle Obama if you squint, is a Woman of Color from the black city Baltimore.

Kehinde Wiley, creator of the Barack Hussein lost in the outfield at Wrigley Field portrait, isn’t as bad at painting, is also of politically preferred pigmentation, and has the further qualification that he paints pictures of black women brandishing white people’s severed heads. Seriously:

Kathy Griffin gives it a double thumbs-up.

Wiley explains: “It’s sort of a play on the ‘kill whitey’ thing.”

Just because he is finally out of the White House does not mean Obama is done poking us in the eye. These awful portraits will hang in the Smithsonian indefinitely.

On a tip from Bodhisattva, Zach B, Jim L, KirklesWorth, The Lieberal Media, TCS III, J, and Mr. Freemarket.

Title of Michelle’s portrait: “Random Woman Wearing SunSetter Model 307-D Retractable Awning”

  2. itsatax says:

Michelle’s portrait is just plain terrible. Could pick a random sophamore out of a college art school and get better work.

  3. octa bright says:

This is how future generations will remember President Obama. That is a significant punishment that his enemies would not have the nerve to inflict.

    Incompetent President / Incompetent Artists

  5. Chronos Z. Wonderpig says:

did the taxpayers pay for this sh*t??????

  6. John Yaeger says:

Well… I’d say they got the portraits they deserved. Take that however you want to.

  7. C. S. P. Schofield says:

OK, hold it. Obama is an Progressive Con Man, a moron, and a swine. That doesn’t mean we should waste time and energy attacking him on issues that don’t matter or make sense. I haven’t spent a great deal of time looking at Presidential Portraits, but my impression of the ones I HAVE seen is that they are MOSTLY awful, or at best mediocre (that includes one of Washington by An ancestor of mine named Peale).

Furthermore, Artists (especially today) tend to be bugsh*t. This is a distraction.

  8. godhelp us says:

What a perfect example of people hired because of their pigment and politics not ability and you get a product that sucks beyond comprehension.

  9. JackisBack says:

Michelle regrets that she could have had citizens killed like Winnie Mendella did. So she settled for killing white folks, as blacks are act to call us, through art.

  10. DM says:

You are right it is a distraction. Also agree most official Presidential portraits are indeed mediocre but the these strike me as being very strange. Even if the portraits were not of the obamas’ they just strike me as strange looking.

  11. StephaneDumas says:

I saw some interesting articles about that painting.

Ben Garrison did an editorial toon about it.

Btw, will trigglypuffs got a sense of humor if someone do a future painting of Obama who looked like that painting of former Chicago mayor Harold Washington titled “Mirth & Girth”?

  12. Liljill says:

Agree. The Michelle portrait is just plain bad. Doesn’t look like her at all. I think a random art student could do much better.

The obama painting is titled: Barry s(h)its in the woods.

  14. saturn says:

The Barry painting could be used for an advertisement for constipation.
Who is the female model used for the Mooch painting?

  15. Windy Wilson says:

I have it on good authority that the artists were strongly recommended by the sign language interpreter from Nelson Mandela’s funeral.

  16. Windy Wilson says:

Well, that answers that age-old question.

  17. MAS says:

It’s a MUCH better rendition than they deserve…

  18. Windy Wilson says:

More than the chair, I think the suit is empty.

  19. vladdy says:

Okay, let’s do the obvious and imagine the opposite. An artist who paints pictures of white women — or white men, doesn’t matter — with angry, vicious expressions, holding up the heads of white people, blood dripping from them. Or heck, what if it was someone who painted portraits of white people proudly yanking on the rope that causes the floor to drop out and black people to hang? Think there’d be an outcry? Yeah, that’s what I think, too. Black privilege strikes again.
Let’s add one more thing. Think PDT would be accused of acting “unpresidential”? Like “a thug”? Someone who “doesn’t care about anyone but himself”? Maybe even a psychopath? Yeah, I think so, too. Even Melanie wouldn’t get away with it. And with either case, we’d be hearing, “Oh, I miss B and M! I wish we had B and M back!”
If it weren’t for bad morals, the left wouldn’t have any morals at all.

  20. vladdy says:

What gender is that person on the left supposed to be?

  21. gregtuco says:

Not that Barry has any dignity to uphold, but we’re supposed to look upon this crap with reverence and admiration like we do with depictions of other past presidents? (I’m mainly talking about pre-Woodrow Wilson era presidents). I’ll have to stop laughing long enough to even try, and that’s not going to happen.

Moonbats will look upon this and delude themselves into thinking that this lunacy is wonderful, just like they do with everything else they hold dear.

  22. ICEvictim says:

how many restaurant table cloths did it take to make that dress??

  23. Bodhisattva says:

At least B. Hussein’s picture looks like him.

Moochelle’s doesn’t look like her. I wonder, why not?

  24. Bodhisattva says:

    Love it. Two thumbs up.

  25. Bodhisattva says:

    Because it sure ain’t Mooch!

  26. Bodhisattva says:

    I don’t think it knows.

  27. Bodhisattva says:

About the guy who painted Barry’s:

Wiley’s family history is much like Obama’s: his father was from Africa and abandoned his mother immediately.

  28. Bodhisattva says:

Why is Obama manspreading? I though moonbats hated manspreaders? Of course he was also famous for mansplaining.

  29. just a thought says:

    Obama of the weeds.

The leaves look like Brazilian Pepper Tree, a noxious invasive plant whose poisonous berries should never be used as a substitute for pepper.

Or maybe it’s supposed to be poison ivy?

And what’s with the 6 fingers,!

  31. Callawyn says:

    “isn’t as bad at painting”

Actually – he farms out the actual work of “painting” to slave labor in Communist China.

And, yes, it really is terribly executed in every conceivable way. Starting with the 6 fingered oversized hands, the foot that must be detached to be in its depicted position, the chair that is out of perspective, the fact that his butt is hanging over the side of a chair that supposedly has arms, etc, etc, etc. And that’s not even getting into the greenery, or the composition.

On the other hand, Obama deliberately choosing an “artist” famed for horrific racist kill whitey ‘paintings’ who admits to farming out the work to be ‘ghost-painted’ by Slave Labor in Communist Chinese is just so perfect on so many levels.

It just speaks volumes about who he is and what he stands for.

  32. James McEnanly says:

The first thing that comes to mind when I see the Barack Obama portrait is Homer Simpson backing into a hedge. My next thought is that he is way out in left field.

  33. BPatMann says:

“Princess Barry in the land of Fairies”

  34. bob says:

I can’t wait to see the kill blacky thing that this affirmative action “painter” does.

  35. bob says:

he can’t help it. he’s color blind. just like milk wanted.

  36. bob says:

I thought his team was the white sox, even though he can’t name any of them. They’ve got him sitting in Wrigley field. I guess the “ar-tist” knows as much about baseball as obomo.

  37. bob says:

the first one would have been the greatest presidential portrait in history. I would have loved to see them unveil his portrait and it be him looking all lgbtqxyz and stuff. that would be he larious.

  38. bob says:

that’s the best picture of obomo I’ve ever seen.

  39. bob says:

could have been shiff’s in the wind.

  40. DriesN says:

I saved a few screenshots of comments posted along NYT article about those “portraits”. I knew progressivism is a cult, but I was prepared to fathom depths of their derangement. Sailer tries to beats some sense into their thick skull.

  41. ICEvictim says:

maybe down the line some wag will swap the portraits, ha ha
    then call the news media

  42. Alisa says:

Most likely. I saw on another article where someone posted that obama’s portrait cost $40,000.

  43. SoundMind says:

I bet there’s a subliminal message written among the leaves.
