The Tyranny of ObamaCare Continues to Unfold

According to a lawyer for the Obama Regime, the federal government has the authority to compel you to commit the most appalling crimes against your conscience — even to murder children — regardless of how grievously this would betray your religious beliefs:

The assertion came in the case of Tyndale House Publishers v. Sebelius, a challenge to the Obama administration’s regulation requiring health-care plans to cover sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs.

Tyndale is a for-profit corporation that publishes Bibles, biblical commentaries and other religious works. …

As a matter of religious principle, the foundation believes that human life begins at conception and that abortion is wrong.

The corporation self-insures, providing its employees with a generous health-care plan. But, in keeping with its religious faith, it does not in any way provide abortions. For this reason, Tyndale sued the Obama administration, arguing that the Obamacare regulation that would force it to provide abortion-inducing drugs and IUDs in its health-care plan violated its right to the free-exercise of religion.

Berwick argued here — as the administration has argued in other cases where private businesses are challenging the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate — that once people form a corporation to conduct business they lose their First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion insofar as their business is concerned.

In the face of this argument, [US District Judge Reggie] Walton asked an interesting question. His wife, a graduate of Georgetown Medical School, is a physician. She has incorporated her medical practice. Does that mean, according to the Obama administration’s argument, that the federal government can force her to act against her religious faith in the conduct of her medical practice?

Berwick’s alarming answer: Yes.

    I guess this means all individuals who incorporate their small businesses lose all their civil liberties, then, right Mr. Berwick? That means the Feds can tell them they are not allowed to speak their mind, be religiously oriented at all (bye bye YMCA, Christian schools, etc.), search and seize their property without a warrant, convict them of a crime without trial and then burn their building to the ground?

    Obama kills American citizens without due process, deliberately violates the freedom of religion with ObamaCare, and tries to restrict the 2nd Amendment. Liberals love and adore him, while defending his every action.

    Satan had a field day with ObamaCare! So much evil in one bill! Of course, he’s got the baby killing in there; I’m sure he’s quite proud of the way he is forcing God’s people to participate in it.

    The coup de gras though, is, likely to be the implementation of the Mark of the Beast. That might be the next “surprise” in ObamaCare.

    Authorization to Use Military Force. Pres Obama appears to be extending these powers further than Bush. And it appears there is nothing to stop him or the next president. Seems to me that the AUMF is unconstitutional. The Constitution establishes a balance of power between the branches and I dont believe Congress can abrogate their powers to the president.

    There is no excuse for siding with this or any Administration that advocates they have the legal right to execute, without evidence, bothersome trial or any review, an AMERICAN CITIZEN they think may be a threat to America.

    Kill him/her. Go into Oslo where they are hiding and murder them in the name of a very fearful America! Fuck the justice system that tried and convicted Nazis, the Unibomber, the DC sniper and how many others?

    You do not just pack your morals in the back closet and pull them out when you vote! You have to use your voice and stop the insanity. Nixon resigned in shame once the uproar got loud enough.

    We rolled over and still allow torture and extrodinary rendition (because they are grabbing terrists!) We as a nation are capable of being so much better than this.

    Just because you may be stifled by distance and maybe this sticky little thing called PROOF It is our responsibility to “second-guess” them every single day! They work for us and for the interests of this nation. WE are the nation, and they answer to us every day, not just on election day.

    President Obama could eat a baby in a nationwide televised press conference and his fan club on D-Yoo would gush how he had the courage to go before the American people and do the hard but right thing. Besides, the baby probably, likely, maybe could grow up to threaten our national security, and the danger had to be put down immediately. Time is of the essence, and due process could cost other Americans their lives, man!

    Sure, the above example is absurd. But it’s not as absurd as defending the indefensible, and so many people whom I thought stood for ideas and ideals during the Bush regime are allowing themselves to be led down the primrose path to being politically compromised. Then again, maybe they let that happen to themselves long before the Justice Department memo surfaced.

    It’s still wrong, and as you said, it all flies in the face of what we supposedly should stand for as Americans.

    80. I agree. The democratic party threw hissy fist when George W. Bush used executive power in this way. Now all of a sudden it is okay. It is not okay just because Obama is our President.

    Perhaps there are a few Democraps still left that realize the party they have held so closely in allegiance has become Nazified and blind to anything but blind and unbounding devotion to one evil man.

    Collaborator John Roberts needs to be mentioned every time we lament the disgrace of obamacare. Mark Levin regularly derides Roberts for his treason. I hope others will do the same.

    @Clingtomyguns, As I see it, there is very little significent difference between a Nazi and a democrat. For all practical purposes they are more or less the same in world view.
    To those who still are under the mistaken belief that the Nazis were “right wingers”; the term “Nazi” was an easy term in english to say National SOCIALIST.

    The more I read about the horrible direction this country has taken the more emotionally calloused I get. I use to get angry but that just plays into the Lefts meme. I use to have respect for other peoples point of view but now I see especially on the left YOU WILL BELIEVE WHAT I BELIEVE OR ELSE!!!! I even read a comment on another site from a leftist basically stating you conservatives better start respecting our laws in order to remain in this country, like we are not legal tax paying citizens as they are. But that statement was just proving to me what I have suspected for sometime, is that the left along with elites are the new landlords and we are just the tenants who better keep our nose’s clean and pay the rent on time or you are out!!! No one should ever give into them if employer does not want to provide birth control to their employees let the Feds take them to court.     Incorporation is nothing more than a filing status to satisfy the IRS.
    The corporation is then recognized as a “person” under the law
    So now consider the second half of the government’s claim:

    Clearly a corporation still has first amendment rights…..ALL of them.
    The government cannot parse them out.

    So if by law, a corporation is still considered a “person”, are they not setting the stage to removal of ALL first amendment rights ?

    This is coercion for the sake of coercion. The argument that a person has no other place to obtain health insurance other than their employer will be null and void next year once the State exchanges open under Obamacare. Next year, any individual will be able to purchase individual health insurance for themselves. So saying that this employers choice to limit coverage of abortions is limiting the persons ability is null and void.
