The War Against Chick-fil-A

It isn’t easy trying to run a business in the USSA once word gets out that you do not endorse homosexual depravity. This is what happened to grand opening festivities for a Chick-fil-A in California:

Fans were already camped out Wednesday night to prepare for the grand opening of a new Chick-fil-A in Laguna Hills, but a protest planned for Thursday morning caused a change of plans when the company made everyone who was camped out leave.

The protest was planned by militant perverts to punish the company because President Dan Cathy has been supportive of the concept that marriage is between a man and a woman.

Fans of the chicken chain were drawn, in part, to camp out overnight because the first 100 people at a grand opening usually get a year’s worth of free meals.

Chik-fil-A — free or otherwise — has felt pressure from several U.S. cities in recent weeks to back out of scheduled grand openings. Chicago and Boston leaders vowed to block the chain from opening in their cities this week.

Dan Cathy’s endorsement of values that were universally shared until only recently has set moonbats who can tolerate no dissent on the warpath. The odious Roseanne Barr wished cancer upon Chick-fil-A customers:

“anyone who eats S%#@ Fil-A deserves to get the cancer that is sure to come from eating antibiotic filled tortured chickens 4Christ”

After even some moonbats reacted to her rhetoric with horror, Roseanne issued this heartfelt apology:

“christian liars: i never wished cancer on you at all-jesus will punish u 4 ur deceit-I said processed foods cause cancer.”

Bristol Palin, who has some experience with progressives’ “tolerance,” is still trying to figure out their conception of diversity:

So, help me understand this, liberals. Are you for true and difficult diversity — diversity of opinion, religion, and beliefs? The kind of diversity that requires talking to each other about our differences of opinion and ideas? Or just the easy kind of diversity that makes for cool advertisements?

Actually, liberal establishmentarians are willing to tolerate some diversity of thought. Even as he slams the door on attempts by Chick-fil-A to create jobs in Chicago, ex-ballerina Mayor Rahm “Dead Fish” Emanuel spreads his arms in welcome to Louis Farrakhan’s fascistic cult. Farrakhan differs from Rahmbo in that he has a redeeming quality; he opposes the sick travesty of homosexual “marriage.”

But this isn’t about diversity. To use Chicago politics alumnus Barack Obama’s phrase, its about rewarding friends — and punishing enemies. As Bristol’s mother notes:

“Chicago thuggery is a scary thing in 2012. For its politicians to think they can muscle businesses and shut them out just because they hold a differing, albeit traditional, view on an issue is a scary thing indeed.”

Chick-fil-A may be allowed to open a restaurant in Chicago after all — but only if they surrender their fundamental right of freedom of association:

Chicago Alderman Proco Joe Moreno says the door isn’t entirely closed on a new Chick-fil-A restaurant opening in his 1st ward.

Moreno told WBEZ that the owners seeking to build the restaurant have said they won’t support any groups with a political agenda, including those with an anti-gay marriage stance.

Moreno says if he gets an explicit guarantee from the franchise owner he will consider granting zoning rights to a new Chick-fil-A in Logan Square.

“If they’re serious about that, and they’re willing to put that in writing and they’re willing to adopt that. I think those are the grounds where we can move forward,” Moreno said.

The explicit guarantee would effectively establish hiring priority for politically favored perverts and apparently limit the range of social and political views the franchise owners will be allowed to hold.

Meanwhile, militant sickos are planning to attack Chick-fil-A by ruining its customers’ appetites with in-your-face displays of nauseating perversion:

The gay rights group Equality Illinois is launching a campaign against Chick-Fil-A – petitioning universities and lawmakers to evict the fast food restaurant from their campuses and planning a “kiss-in” campaign by gay and lesbian couples outside Chick-Fil-A restaurants. …

At the “kiss-in,” Equality Illinois says, “LGBT supporters will show their disdain for Chick-Fil-A’s policies with public displays of affection in front of their restaurants.”

Chick-fil-A’s policies fall completely within highly restrictive laws that forbid any sort of “discrimination” against perverts. The point is to punish the company for Cathy’s personal views.

Advocates of homosexual degeneracy and the devout liberals who swallow their disgust and dutifully bob their heads in agreement will tell you that conservatives ought to mind their own business regarding repugnant perversions that spread lethal diseases. But this isn’t about tolerating private practices. This is about public acceptance of a morally loathsome lifestyle being imposed by force.

  2. Artfldgr says:

After even Muppets moonbat Jim Henson reacted to her rhetoric with horror, Roseanne issued this heartfelt apology

in case you guys dont know it, jim henson of the muppet world died many many years ago…

During production of his later projects, Henson began to experience flu-like symptoms.[3] On May 4, 1990, Henson made an appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show, one of his last television appearances. At the time, he mentioned to his publicist that he was tired and had a sore throat, but felt that it would go away.[3]

On May 12, 1990, Henson traveled to Ahoskie, North Carolina, with his daughter Cheryl to visit his father and stepmother. The next day, feeling tired and ill, he consulted a physician in North Carolina, who could find no evidence of pneumonia by physical examination and prescribed no treatment except aspirin.[29] Henson returned to New York on an earlier flight and cancelled a Muppet recording session scheduled for May 14.[3]

Henson’s wife Jane, from whom he was separated, came to visit and sat with him talking throughout the evening. At 2 am on May 15, Henson was having trouble breathing and began coughing up blood. He suggested to his wife that he might be dying, but did not want to bother going to the hospital. She later told People Magazine that it was likely due to his desire not to be a bother to people.[3] Although it is rumored that his Christian Science faith prevented him from visiting the hospital, his stepmother and others deny this, as he had ceased practicing 15 years prior.[30] His wife Jane believes that his Christian Science upbringing, while not directly responsible, “affects his general thinking.”[31]

Two hours later, Henson finally agreed to go to New York Hospital. By the time he was admitted at 4:58 am, he could no longer breathe on his own and had abscesses in his lungs. He was placed on a mechanical ventilator to help him breathe, but his condition deteriorated rapidly into septic shock, despite aggressive treatment with multiple antibiotics. After two cardiac arrests over 20 hours after he was admitted, Jim Henson died on the morning of May 16, 1990, at the age of 53.

The official cause of death was first reported as Streptococcus pneumoniae, a bacterial infection.[4] Bacterial pneumonia is usually caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, an alpha-hemolytic species of Streptococcus. Henson’s cause of death, however, was organ failure resulting from Streptococcus pyogenes, a severe Group A streptococcal infection.[32] S. pyogenes is the bacterial species that causes strep throat, scarlet fever, and rheumatic fever. It can also cause other infections.

Chick-fil-A doesn’t have an outlet in the Peoples Republic of the Perpetually Offended here in Washington State, so I checked their website for gift cards. They have them, but they are not available online. Darn.

  6. TrickleUpPolitics says:

I think Henson had AIDS and refused treatment so he wouldn’t leave that as his legacy. I thought so at the time he died.

Who would have guessed that the disordered, disease-spreading, vile, and enslaving acts of sodomy would be glorified, and the Christian teachings of truth, beauty, goodness, and true freedom would be demonized? Swapping virtue for vice is not new, but it has rarely been more prevalent, and sanctioned by an elitist aristocracy, than today.

    Question #2:
Does Chick-Fil-A refuse to hire gays? No.
    Question #3:
How does Chick-Fil-A exactly harm the non-reproductive oriented community? They don’t.

  12. St. Gilbert says:

    @James McEnanly,
I also linked to that in the last open thread. Everyone should read that story. It unmasks the real tyranny that is growing in this country.

Why hasn’t the media reported the backlash from all this? The Chick-fil-a near us was overwhelmed by numbers of eager customers the likes of which I’ve never seen before. I asked a few why they thought it was so crowded. They all said things like, “Because of the controversy” and “We want to show our support for Chick-fil-a”! It’s great to see folks are fed up with all the BS hitting us today. I hope people rise up and shed this burden placed upon us all.

I was a Progressive customer like ten or twelve years ago, and I switched when I found out Progressive wasn’t just a catchy moniker. I’ve also sworn off Target and Oreo cookies among others for their “gay pride” bullshit. When did being “tolerant” come to mean that you have to fully accept a lifestyle you find completely repugnant? I don’t hate gays, but I find their lifestyle to be completely and utterly disgusting.

To me (and most sane people) tolerance means: I don’t agree with you, or your way of life, but I believe in your right to screw yourself up however you see fit. Just don’t expect me to approve.

To the left tolerance means: You better agree with my beliefs and cling to my ideology or I’m going to make your life a living hell…. unless you’re a Muslim, or a member of a protected minority. Then you can do what you want and I won’t say shit because I’m afraid of appearing intolerant.

but jim wasnt gay… he was just a gentle guy who was so driven he didnt take good care of himself.

The food’s actually quite good, and probably better for me than the crap I’ve been eating.

Oh, and I love Amazon, but then I read this morning that Jeff Bezos and his wife gave 2.5 million to some pac to push gay marriage in Washington state.
Why can’t they just leave their politics out of it?

I already got rid of Netflix because that guy is a progressive jerk. And I quit using LegalZoom after they dropped Rush over that Sandra Fluck thing.

Don’t forget, Aug 1 is Chik Fil A appreciation day. Have lunch there.

  26. Joe says:

Fred C. I really like your explanation of conservative vs. liberal “tolerance”. I agree 100%.
BTW, I’ll be at the Chick-fil-A in Cape Coral around 6 pm today, enjoying a couple chicken sandwiches. See ya there!

  27. TrickleUpPolitics says:

Artfldgr, one of my favorite sci fi series is Farscape and Jim Henson was involved with that. I am very disappointed that Henson has to make a point of publicizing their support for gay marriage. Why do we have to be inundated

  33. Laurie says:

I just went to my local Chick-fil-a to show my support for an American business that’s under attack by crazed leftists. And you know what I saw?

The place was packed! There was a line out the door, all the cash registers were manned and the production line for food was going full tilt.

I mentioned this to the guy behind the cash register that I noticed that they were really busy because it was lunch time and he said “No, it’s because of the events that have been in the news recently”. I asked “That whole ‘gay marriage’ thing?” and he said yes. Ever since that flap started the restaurant has been packed. He says they’re seeing at least three times the usual business.

So there you go, militant gays and suck-up politicians. Your pathetic little protest is having the opposite effect; people don’t support you and they’re to the point where they’ll rally against you.

So here’s a suggestion for you crybabies; how about if, instead of trying to shut down businesses that don’t agree with your viewpoint, you build businesses of your own and prove how great you keep saying you are? Since you’re sooooo smart and sooooo open-minded and sooooo worldly, build a solid ongoing “gay” business. Then you’ll have something to talk about.

And if you don’t, then hang it up. All you’re doing is showing the world that you’re just a bunch of crybabies.

  34. Stephan the Original says:

    Laurie, great to hear.

  35. Louie says:

Just went for a late lunch/early dinner. Chick-fil-a was too busy to get near. Even had a cop directing traffic. I’ll have to try again later.

    Mysterious ways. . . .

But predictably, this was the best thing that could have happened to Chick-fil-a: Upholding your own principles and witnessing a resounding verification of your decision to do so. Huge free publicity of the type you just can’t buy. Lots of new customers, many of whom will likely remain loyal customers. And a place to eat where, presumably, there will be few, if any, queers. That last one’s a huge plus for me.

Can I buy me some stock? With a side of waffle fries, please (they’re delicious).

  36. TrickleUpPolitics says:

Louie, that eating where there are no queers is definitely a plus. I’ve never eaten at Chik Fil A but I’m going on Appreciation Day.

  37. TrickleUpPolitics says:

A lot of people are defending Chik Fil A by pointing out that they hire gays. The thought of gays handling my food makes me nauseous. I guess it’s only a little worse than illegal aliens.

  38. White_Polluter says:

I haven’t eaten at a Chick-fil-a for a couple years, but I just ate there tonight. I’ll be there 8-1 also and I now plan on making it at least a semi-monthly stop on the way home, even though nothing they serve really fits with my diet. Although it probably makes no difference in the long run, it just feels a little better trying to help a good guy instead of seeing the A**holes of this world win.

  39. Jay B. says:

Maybe by then some politicians and business owners will start understanding the dirty, dirty little secret every liberal has been hiding since the start of the PC police.. Liberals are no more than 20% of the population. Start riling up conservative values and they have no chance at all of competing. This is also why the liberal propaganda arms fail so spectacularily. Libs are those who yell the louder but they’re still a gross minority.

  40. Jay B. says:

    Laurie says:

For that very same reason. A hardcore liberal business wouldn’t work. They would need to be subsidised just to keep out of the red.

  41. 70Stage1 says:

Go Chic-Fil-A !!!!! Hope their coffers double or triple because of this. Now on to another noted compay: Progressive. It is a commie, left wing run organization. They suck you in with stupid commercials and intially low premiums. Then after 6 months, premiums “adjust”. Go with the long established American companies started 80+ years ago: State Farm, Allstate, Farmers…and even Geico. Plus you get an agent to deal with, not a phone rep in Timbuktu.

  42. […] The left, in their zeal to snuff out the voices and traditions of the Christian community, is waging war against Chick-Fil-A whose President, Dan Cathy, has come out openly in support of traditional marriage stating:    […]

  43. Matt says:

You can mask prejudice, bigotry and hate behind apples and oranges arguments all day long, but 50 years from now, people like you will be in the same boat as Klan members and Neo Nazis.

Allow me to correct you. There is a different between a particularly gross fast food brand and a necessity of life. We can’t drive to work without gas. We NEED oil, we don’t need Chick-Fil-A.

The different between Progressive and Chick-Fil-A is Progressive’s owner is donating money to a liberal organization that advances liberal interests. Most of which are social issues. Chick-Fil-A’s president is making a specific claim, saying that one group of people doesn’t deserve the same rights she has.

I’m not sure where you were raised or how you were brought up but allow me to correct you again. One group of people is not better than another group of people based on sexual orientation. If you believe that, then you’re likely a miserable dark-hearted bigot. Enjoy your misery and stupidity.

  44. StanInTexas says:

Matt, you are a complete FOOL.

DAN Cathy did not say that “one group of people doesn’t deserve the same rights she (sic) has.” What he said was his statement of belief.

Does Chik-Fil-A refuse to serve or hire gay people? NO.

One group of people is not better than another group of people based on sexual orientation.
This could easily be the stupidest thing I have ever on this board for two reasons.
FIRST, I am better that people whose sexual orientation is towards children, animals, or rape.
SECOND, it is the militant gay community that demand that their rights supersede everyone else’s.

  45. Joe Casepack says:

The whole Chick-Fil-A thing is more distraction politics from Obama and his team. It’s a complete political smokescreen which dovetails perfectly into the whole “gay marriage” non-issue.

In Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former chief of staff, is leading the charge against Chick-Fil-A with the hopes that people are stupid enough to think anyone gives a shit about another fast food restaurant.

Anything to get people distracted from Obama’s terrible performance and this economy he has saddled us with.

If you make awesome chicken and believe in the tooth fairy as a deity or that flossing will send you to hell or that scoobys gang are not meddling kids, no matter. It makes no difference to me I will be purchasing your chicken most likely. (except right now I am off that sort of thing because I am exercising and loosing weight now) I wish everyone the best in the ideological philosophical and religious wars. 51. […] War on Chick-fil-A is only a front in the greater war by the Left against everything that is good and decent. Fight […]

  52. SherryLevine says:

From Randy Hannig, the director of a social-conservative hater group (Equality Illinois):

“Company President Dan Cathy clarified Chick-fil-A’s views of gay and lesbian Americans, shedding light on its multimillion dollar donations to groups that actively seek to influence government leaders and the
public to take away rights from gay and lesbian individuals ”

While Hannig relentlessly works to take away from all social conservatives their most fundamental human rights (freedom of conscience, speech, religion, etc.), that is, to destroy our democratic functioning.

“The company is using its dollars to shape public and political discourse by funding organizations that promote homophobia in the U.S. and abroad.”

While Equality Illionois is using its dollars to shape public and political discourse by promoting hatred of social conservatives and “conservative-phobia” in the US and abroad.

“In a petition, Equality Illinois is urging socially responsible business and institutional leaders across the country to challenge Chick-fil-A’s discriminatory practices and end all relationships that enable the
Chick-fil-A brand to operate on their premises.”

As far as reported, CFA does not discriminate in its business practices. What Hannig is doing is a public smear of CFA equal to what the Nazis did of Jewish businesses in the beginning of the 1930s. Hannig first shamelessly smears CFA with a false accusation of discrimination practices in order to justify his call for a sordid destruction of this upstanding company. This is a company where 60,000 employees work making a decent living in a decent environment. The majority of the employees are young and very much in need of their jobs.

Obviously, it takes a vicious organization to want to destroy all of this, but it’s what “Equality” Illinois is doing.

    Equality, you note.

“We urge mall owners who rent space to Chick-fil-A to look deeply at the hateful organizations the company supports. We ask university officials to reconsider accommodating a business that ostracizes a large segment of their student body. We want corporate leaders who allow Chick-fil-A to do business in their offices to consider a new restaurant option during contract renegotiations.”

It would be nice if mall owners looked deeply at what CFA supports – they might be shocked to find out just how much CFA is being smeared. It would be even more important if these mall owners looked at how much violence and harm people with a homosexuality agenda cause in society. But, we know, there won’t be much of a chance for the latter.

Equality Illinois’ aim is to ostracize millions of social conservatives in society, along with any such student, and turn them into social pariahs.

“We want corporate leaders who allow Chick-fil-A to do business in their offices to consider a new restaurant option during contract renegotiations.”

Why, it’s like the National Socialists targetting the Jewish business owners in 1932.

Hannig: “We’d like all Americans to think twice before they bite into their next Chick-fil-A sandwich.”
So would we. But we would also like for everyone to think about what “Equality” Illinois is trying to do.
