Washington Post Exhibits Current Journalistic Standards

The liberal establishment has been turning its dials all the way to the left. Accordingly, the Washington Post has adopted a new standard of journalism: If it isn’t technically a lie, it is fit to print. Consider this headline:

Trump Keeps Claiming That the Most Dangerous Cities in America Are All Run by Democrats. They Aren’t.

The story is accompanied by two graphs. One lists the 20 US cities with the most violent crime per 10,000 residents. Nineteen of them are run by Democrats. But the Mayor of Springfield, Missouri is an independent. The other graph lists the 20 cities with the most violent crime overall. In 17 of these cities, the mayor is a Democrat. Two cities have independent mayors. Now for the really big news. Jacksonville, Florida comes in at #16. Mayor Lenny Curry is a Republican!

The comical headline is obviously intended to mislead. But it isn’t technically a lie, so it meets current journalistic standards.

On a tip from Varla.
