West Hollywood Wants to Remove Trump’s Star from Hollywood Walk of Fame

Having nearly completed their Long March Through the Institutions, leftists are now exploiting their strategic advantage by erasing those who do not submit to their ideology. The West Hollywood City Council has moved to remove Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame:

Put forth by West Hollywood Mayor pro tempore John D’Amico and Councilwoman Lindsey Horvath, the motion, passed on Monday night, seeks the removal of the landmark ‘due to [Trump’s] disturbing treatment of women and other actions.’

Yeah right. How about the Bill Cosby’s star? Cosby didn’t just make a crude boast to Billy Bush; he actually drugged and raped women and was found guilty in court on multiple counts of felony aggravated indecent assault.

When a petition was circulated calling for the removal of Cosby’s star, it came up against this policy:

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has received inquiries asking whether we are planning to remove the stars of Walk of Famers because of alleged misconduct. The answer is no,” said Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president and CEO. “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”

Fair enough. Johnny Grant, long-time chair of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee, added this:

“Stars are awarded for professional achievement to the world of entertainment and contributions to the community. A celebrity’s politics, philosophy, irrational behavior, or outrageous remarks have never been cause to remove a Walk of Fame star.”

But nothing is free of leftist politics now. If not even the Founding Fathers are safe from progressive purges, why should entertainers be?

It is actually up to the Los Angeles City Council and Hollywood Chamber of Commerce whether Trump’s star gets erased. If they go along, look for more stars to fall as each person memorialized on the Walk of Fame has their life scrutinized for infractions against liberal ideology. Eventually, even having appeared in a movie that didn’t include the requisite number of blacks and homosexuals will be grounds for banishment to the memory hole.
