White Men Purged From American Political Thought

American political thought represents one of the greatest steps forward in the history of the human race, producing a nation that from its inception was devoted to individual liberty and limited government, which in turn produced wealth and innovation such as the world had never seen.

The core of this thought is entirely the work of white men — i.e., the Founding Fathers and European thinkers like Locke and Montesquieu whom they drew upon.

Say you were a demonic fiend who wanted to destroy American political thought, so as to replace it with something along the lines of Frankfurt School thought. This might be accomplished through Cultural Marxism by purging it of all white men. If little or nothing remains, that is for the best, providing social engineers with a clean slate upon which to design a coercive oligarchical collectivist utopia.

Professor Chad Shomura has taught a course entitled “American Political Thought” at the University of Colorado, Denver. A student reports that he “removed every single white male and their theoretical perspectives from the entire course curriculum.”

The syllabus indicates what can pass for a history class these days:

“This course aims to develop an understanding of American political life from the margins. Rather than surveying traditional figures of American political thought, it attends to historically marginalized voices at the crossings of race, gender, sexuality, and nation. It explores issues such as intersectionality, antiblack racism and the American Dream, ordinary life, borderlands and migration, public feelings, mental health, and settler colonialism. The materials we examine also exceed the usual genres of American Political Thought. They include, among other things, poems, an ethnography, academic articles, a novel, and a hacked tarot card set.”

Here’s what students learn:

[I]nstead of reading the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence, students must read Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the World and Me, in which the author disgustingly and shamelessly smears the 9/11 first-responders, who sacrificed their lives for their fellow countrymen, as racist oppressors: “They were not human to me. Black, white, or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could — with no justification — shatter my body.”

Most political science majors take this garbage course to fulfill a political theory requirement.

Just as the apparent purpose of modern art is to destroy art, the purpose of history classes is to erase our history. This is important work for progressives, because once they have erased our history, they have erased Americans as a nation.
