Why You Need a Gun

Apparently the media couldn’t find cute kiddy pictures of Michael Martin, because no one has been making an issue of his well-deserved demise:

Any relation to Trayvon is probably superficial.

On a tip from AC.

    Ok, I’ll say it:

If Barry the Pole Gobbler had a son, he would look like Michael.

  2. LMMA says:

This guy looks like if Reverand Wright and Mrs Obama had a son, he would look and Act just like this typical NAACP member! No cute pictures of him at 10? Someone tell Mahr, Sharpton, Dott Sott, Ben Jealous, Jackson, and Pelosi, we got us another justly killed Black criminal because of Guns…thank God!

  3. LMMA says:

Or in Obamas tounge, praise Allah

The woman they interviewed had such a depressing victim mentality. I sincerely hope she sees the light of the Second Amendment before she becomes the next victim of a violent burglary.

She went so far as to articulate an understanding of the threat posed by rapist intruders, but even after seeing her neighbor save his own life with a gun, she can’t quite figure out how to protect herself.

    Sigh.

  9. AC says:

As always, if anyone has any gun questions, go ahead. I’m happy to help anyone, liberal or conservative, so they don’t become the next victim of a violent felon.

38 Special hollow point or 357 Magnum?

7 felony convictions and this POS is running loose? Well not any more.

  12. AC says:

38 Special hollow point or 357 Magnum?

How well can you control the 357 to make accurate and swift follow-up shots?

  13. Sinister66 says:

    metalgarth says:

357 and have the barrel ported for better control.

  14. Max & Eric says:

If its a solid hit you won`t need a follow up shot, thats the beauty of the .357 mag. BUT…I carry a 9mm XD9 sub-compact. Follow up shot`s are like a chainsaw
from hell….really, just comes down to what you like.

  15. MissAnthropy says:

If you have no difficulty firing the 357, go with that. You should practice with it in low light as well, to get an idea of how much the muzzle flash impacts your vision. This is especially so with short barrels or ported/compensated barrels.

  16. John Thomas says:

357 is way too much for CC. It might well go through the perp and off somebody else. Besides, any gun that’s heavy enough to fire a 357 load is too heavy for CC. An Airweight 38 will do.
I can’t get over the SEVEN felonies. Dayum.

  17. MissAnthropy says:

For my own purposes I opted for the 357 SIG in a Glock 32. 13+1 rounds of goblin-control.

The problem is that deciding what counts as a solid, disabling hit and what requires a follow-up gives the criminal too much time.

Personally, I carry the 20 when my dress allows, a slimline 9 otherwise.

  25. Bob Roberts says:

In the Zimmerman case it was Martin clocking him, jumping on him and banging his head against the pavement that made use of deadly force justifiable.

The left, and our troll, are no doubt hoping to somehow skip all that and make this out to be all Zimmerman’s fault, but no matter what he did, there was no excuse for Martin trying to kill him and, once Martin tried to kill him, every reason for Zimmerman to use whatever force necessary to stop him.

  26. AC says:

Just once I’d like to CC my .475 Wildey.

    Highly impractical, but definitely fun.

The trolls have largely sidestepped that argument in favor of blaming Zimmerman for being on the sidewalk in the first place, the theory being that had he gone to cower in his home, rather than BOLOing for burglars, the confrontation would not have happened.

This position is equivalent to blaming female victims for using parking garages.

Someone should tell Whitney the Neighbor Lady that when seconds count–the police are only minutes away! by all means call 911 and try to keep the thug from kicking your door in…Call 911 to pick up his body.

  29. Should have picked it ourselves says:

You can never be sure because they all look alike.

  30. czuch says:

The reporter should have mentioned how the lady who defended herself successfully, saved the tax payers a mountain of money.
Whitney even looks like she has noooo cluuue.
Picture on the web, couldnt defend herself if she had too, other nut running loose,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,easy.
Buy a gun honey, and have some red meat fer Christsakes.

  31. AC says:

Hopefully Whitney Buchholz gets a clue and arms herself before she becomes the next victim of a violent burglary.

Let’s go down the list of victim thinking:

    1. She didn’t think it would “happen here.” Check.
    2. She doesn’t know what she’d do if it happened to her. Check.
    3. Her response is to call (and wait) on 911. Check.
    4. She thinks she can keep an intruder out. Check.
    5. She seems unconcerned that it could happen to her. Check.

Whether Antioch, Tennessee is a good area or not is beside the point. There is no such thing as a safe area, only safer areas. Crime happens everywhere.

Burglars deliberately seek out good areas, because those good areas are populated by passive and distracted people who have things worth stealing.

I’ve got some bad news for Whitney: she’s at the total mercy of a burglar. If a burglar chooses her unit, and chooses to come in, there is nothing she can do to stop it. 911 won’t get there in time to prevent the burglar from having the opportunity to hurt her, assuming she even has the time to call 911 in the event of a home invasion robbery. If she’s the victim of a hot burglary, and she escapes unhurt, it is because the burglar chose not to hurt her.

Reducing one’s life and safety to the choice of a criminal is not an effective way to stay safe. Such thinking puts the criminal in control. Assertive citizens should never give the criminal the choice of the citizen’s own future.
