The economy dodged a bullet. With Biden, the national debt has skyrocketed past $36 trillion (not counting unfunded liabilities). Imagine what it would do with the inept spendthrift Kamala Harris in charge:
Reports emerged that Harris’s campaign paid Winfrey’s Harpo Productions $1 million as part of a very pricey and short run for the White House.
The sheer waste is staggering. How many people who take celebrity moonbats like Oprah seriously aren’t voting Democrat anyway? The payoff was so excessive that Oprah denied receiving anything.
But now, the New York Times reports that two people familiar with the matter reveal the full price of the event with Winfrey cost closer to $2.5 million.
It wasn’t just Oprah that money was wasted on.
Overall, Harris’ campaign spent a whopping $100 million per week during her very condensed presidential run, which began in late July.
You can see how the Cackala campaign managed to end $20 million in debt despite raising over $1 billion.
So deep is the debt Scamala dug herself into that although both the election and Halloween are over, her undead zombie campaign staggers on in an attempt to raise funds for a lost cause:
“The Harris campaign certainly spent more than they raised and is now busy trying to fundraise,” said Adrian Hemond, a Democratic strategist from Michigan. He said he was been asked by the campaign after its loss to Trump to help with fundraising.
The party is flooding Harris’ lucrative email donor list with near-daily appeals aimed at small-dollar donors — those whose contributions are measured in the hundreds of dollars or less. But Hemond said the postelection effort also includes individual calls to larger donors.
This smells so bad even NBC News has noticed:
One senior campaign official called the practice of asking supporters for more money after losing decisively and having taken in so much money as “appalling” and another described it as “disgusting.” A third person who was flooded with complaints from donors questioned how Democrats could save their credibility moving forward.
The overarching challenge at this point for what is left of Harris’ campaign is that the financial picture is shrouded in mystery — even for those within the organization. No one can — or will — spell out a clear status of its finances. Reports have surfaced about debt that’s reached into the tens of millions of dollars…
As for her campaign staff, Politico admits:
Internally, the apparent cash crunch is being blamed for the campaign’s decision to stop paying many senior staff as of Saturday, even those initially told they would be paid through the end of the year.
Democrats are not to be trusted with purse strings.
