Despite having advocated the abolition of private property, Zohran Mamdani says he’s not a communist. He calls himself a democratic socialist. Along similar lines, the Marxist dictator who destroyed formerly wealthy Cuba was not a communist; he just wanted “social justice” too:

Note that Castro sounds more moderate than Mamdani, even though he achieved power by violence rather than by getting white liberals to vote for him.
