As surely as the entertainment and news media, academia has fallen, including even religious universities. The Long March Through the Institutions has moved on to leftists’ next major target, the medical profession. Already the relatively prestigious University of Minnesota Medical School has degenerated into a parody of political correctness, to which students are required to swear allegiance in an overtly religious ceremony:

Rufo is right to imply that liberalism has become a religious cult. This frees its votaries from the restrictions of reason and objective reality — and this pledge is certainly unreal:

“We commit to uprooting the legacy and perpetuation of structural violence deeply embedded within the healthcare system. We recognize inequities built by past and present traumas rooted in white supremacy, colonialism, the gender binary, ableism, and all forms of oppression. As we enter this profession with opportunity for growth, we commit to promoting a culture of anti-racism, listening, and amplifying voices for positive change. We pledge to honor all indigenous ways of healing that have been historically marginalized by Western medicine. Knowing that health is intimately connected to our environment, we commit to healing our planet and communities.”

That a medical professional would endorse this lunacy is alarming in the extreme. Rejecting the allegedly oppressive gender binary entails rejecting biology at the most fundamental level. To “honor all indigenous ways of healing” as students are required to do is to tear down the astounding advances of Western medicine to the level of savage witch doctors. The denunciation of “white supremacy” is an endorsement of the race hate that has become a pillar of ruling class ideology. The oath even works in the climate change power grab with the reference to “healing our planet.”

The speaker was not some random lunatic, but Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education Robert Englander, who boasts an MD from Yale Medical School, an MPH from Johns Hopkins, and a fellowship with Harvard Medical School. This demented fool embodies the medical establishment under pervasive liberal rule.

Derek Hunter is correct that “death cults have less crazy pledges” and that it would be wise to avoid doctors younger than 40, given what students are taught in medical school these days.

Those who resist the indoctrination face cancelation — like Laura Morgan of College Station, Texas:

I was fired from my nursing job this year for refusing to take “implicit bias” training. After 39 years of providing equal care to all my patients without regard to their race, I objected to a mandatory course grounded in the idea that I’m racist because I’m white. I fear every healthcare professional will soon be forced to make the same awful decision I did: Falsely admit to being racist or abandon the medical field.

She was not only fired, but canceled:

I went from a six-figure job to zero income. The day I was fired I sold my car to make sure I’d have enough money to live on. When I tried to find a new healthcare job, no one would hire me. No doubt if they contacted my old employer, they were told why I was let go.

It isn’t only antiwhite race hate that medical professionals are required to buy into. They must swallow the whole enchilada, including the surreal war on the male/female binary. This makes the booming business of “gender-affirming care” possible. Outside of psychopaths and practicing satanists, no doctor who has not been indoctrinated with leftism would sexually mutilate a child for money.

The testimony of Scott Newgent, a woman who was medically affirmed as a man, shines a light on what moonbattery is turning medicine into:

“During my own transition, I had seven surgeries. I also had a massive pulmonary embolism, a helicopter life-flight ride, an emergency ambulance ride, a stress-induced heart attack, sepsis, a 17-month recurring infection due to using the wrong skin during a (failed) phalloplasty, 16 rounds of antibiotics, three weeks of daily IV antibiotics, the loss of all my hair, (only partially successful) arm reconstructive surgery, permanent lung and heart damage, a cut bladder, insomnia-induced hallucinations—oh and frequent loss of consciousness due to pain from the hair on the inside of my urethra.”

Everything infiltrated by leftists is subverted, degraded, and destroyed. Healthcare will be no exception.
