Valedictorian Awards Abolished for Equity

With moonbattery ensconced as our state religion, equity is the objective to which we aspire as a society. Equity precludes excellence, so it should come as no surprise that a Colorado school district is doing away with valedictorian awards for students with the highest grade point averages:

The Cherry Creek School District will stop recognizing valedictorians at their high schools starting with the class of 2026.

Explain the educrats:

“The practices of class rank and Valedictorian status are outdated and inconsistent with what we know and believe of our students. We believe all students can learn at high levels, and learning is not a competition.”

According to liberal ideology, if someone succeeds, it can only be by exploiting and oppressing someone else. Why would educrats want to reward success?

Everyone will get an award in utopia, because we will all be exactly average. Equity will be achieved by the only means possible — by holding everyone to the lowest common denominator. Refraining from rewarding effort and success is a step toward that goal.

If social engineers are successful, one day we will deserve to be ruled by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and to be taught by the people who run public schools.

On a tip from Varla.
