Asbestos has been found in at least 1,000 wind turbines throughout the UK after components containing the banned substance were imported from China, sparking concerns about worker safety and prompting calls for a government investigation.

Gasps Louise Gilmour, secretary of the trade union GMB Scotland:

“Our country banned asbestos decades ago because it was killing workers and their families, but we now pay for it to be ferried here from the other side of the world and then pay again to remove it?”

To top it off, wind turbines are not an economically efficient means of generating electricity — unlike the plentiful oil underneath the nearby North Sea. But on the plus side, in addition to turning a nice profit for our ChiCom adversaries, wind turbines allow left-wing politicians to launder taxpayer money to pay off their donors. Also, they propitiate the weather gods worshiped by liberals.
