As any Girondin could tell you during the Reign of Terror that followed the French Revolution, being moderate will not spare you from the leftist mob. Susan Collins is a centrist who runs as a Republican because there is no market for moderate Democrats. Being associated with the GOP, she is also associated with the defense of the USA’s borders from foreign invasion. The mob disapproves.

An angry leftist mob descended on Senator Susan Collins’ office in Maine following reports of a deadly ICE-involved shooting in the city of Biddeford.
The scene turned chaotic as protesters attempted to break into the senator’s office, shouting anti-police and anti-ICE slogans while demanding an end to what they called “state violence.”
Moonbats are fine with violence when used to intimidate the opposition. But they don’t like it when applied by law enforcement officers to defend themselves from foreign criminals.
While few confirmed details have emerged, preliminary reports suggest the suspect may have tried to run over an ICE agent with a vehicle.

Do any of these protesters work?
The coordinated outrage from the left seems oddly timed, especially when almost nothing is known about what actually happened during the ICE encounter.
The mob doesn’t need to know what happened. It just needs its marching orders. Regarding work, presumably some of these moonbats are paid to create an impression of large numbers. Thanks to zillionaire moonbats like George Soros and Neville Roy Singham, the revolutionary left has no shortage of cash.
