Australia May Tax Unused Bedrooms

As the Beatles used to sing:

(If you drive a car, car) I’ll tax the street
(If you try to sit, sit) I’ll tax your seat
(If you get too cold, cold) I’ll tax the heat
(If you take a walk, walk) I’ll tax your feet
Taxman!

Apparently George Harrison could not come up with a good rhyme for unused bedrooms — which may be taxed in Australia.

Urges Eliza Owen of the property research group Cotality:

“Governments could make it more expensive to have more housing than you need, and cheaper to live in smaller housing.”

Big Government will decide how much housing you need.

Equity cannot be achieved without tyranny. This is great news for the taxman.

On a tip from R F.
