Fauci Flummoxed on Success of Texas Reopening

If the draconian lockdowns that have had such a devastating effect on the economy and on public health are necessary to overcome the ChiCom virus as Democrats insist, how come Texas opened up a month ago with no ill effects? Let’s give the High Priest of COVID-19 Tyranny a chance to explain:

“Quack quack quack I dunno quack quack quack.”

As reported at Not the Bee:

26 days have passed since Gov. Abbott reopened Texas with no mask mandates or anything, and 34 days have passed since he announced the reopening. The number of new cases, deaths, hospitalizations, ICU occupancy, and positivity rate have all fallen since then.

Here’s an idea for moonbats. Distract from the success of opening up by accusing Governor Abbott of pay to play with vaccine distribution. It worked in Florida.

Or maybe it didn’t. Frets CNN:

The mainstream media trying to suggest he was involved in a pay-for-play scheme involving the Covid-19 vaccine? With Democrats on the record saying not only that “60 Minutes” got it wrong but did so purposely? Manna from heaven for DeSantis, who has already benefited greatly from his laissez-faire approach to the pandemic in his state — placing second behind only former President Donald Trump in a 2024 straw poll conducted at the Conservative Political Action Conference earlier this year. …

DeSantis couldn’t have written this script any better. He gets oodles more national attention and love from Trump conservatives, all the while being able to bash away at the media. Win, win, win.

Maybe it’s time for liberals to confront the distressing reality that the lockdowns couldn’t last forever. They can clutch their Fauci pillows for consolation and have a good cry. But then they must pull themselves together for the task ahead. They need to whip the public into a panic over some other crisis, even if that means resorting to an imaginary one like global warming.

On a tip from Mr. Freemarket.
