In the olden days, beauty contests were won with beauty. Nowadays, it’s a matter of checking identity boxes:

Miss Georgia Teen USA 2024 Ava Colindres made history as the first Asian-Latina-African American to hold the title and she has used her platform to encourage others to celebrate the beauty of their differences.

That is, the beauty of DEI, which is working out well for Miss Colindres.

Being an actual female, she lags behind the times. Way back in 2021, Kataluna Enriquez won Miss Nevada USA by being not only black but also actually a guy. He too has a Hispanic name. So far as I know, he isn’t also Asian though.
