Brad Pitt Katrina Homes Already Unlivable

The ostentatious do-goodery of well-heeled moonbats does not long endure. Of the 109 affordable homes built by Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation following Hurricane Katrina, only six are still in livable condition, as many as have been abandoned altogether:

A vast majority of the homes, which were built for $26.8 million, are riddled with construction-related problems that have led to mold, termites, rotting wood and flooding, urban geographer Judith Keller wrote for Market Watch, and as of early 2022, six of the homes are vacant because of mold, rot and other structural issues after they were built without essential needs for the city’s sub-tropical climate. They were sold to residents for a discounted $150,000.

What the homes lack in livability, they make up for in virtue signaling. All of them came with solar panels, even if they didn’t all have rain gutters.

Several of the residents have sued Make It Right, but the organization has not yet resolved these issues and has stopped assisting residents. It now appears to be defunct, with Keller reporting that Make It Right officials were seen moving out of their office in the neighborhood last month.

At least building the homes made better theater than Sean Penn’s rescue operation:

Penn’s Hurricane Katrina rescue boat just wasn’t sound enough to help those in New Orleans. Penn had planned to rescue children waylaid by Katrina’s flood waters, but apparently forgot to plug in a hole in the bottom of his vessel, which began filling with water seconds after its launch the other day, reports the Melbourne Herald Sun. The star was seen wearing what appeared to be a white flak jacket and frantically bailing water out with a red plastic cup. When the motor didn’t start, Penn and his entourage…

Actors are advised to stick to making movies.
