Biden’s handlers arranged an interview with Democratic Party apparatchik George Stephanopoulos for purposes of damage control after his debate performance made it impossible not to acknowledge that he has succumbed to dementia. You can see why they moved it to Friday night during a holiday weekend. That way, it would be easy for the media to bury in case it went south — which it did.

Biden’s excuses for his debate performance were of the “dog ate my homework” variety. He was tired, he had a cold, he had traveled, Trump shouted, et cetera.

Fox News has a full transcript of the interview. Possibly the most alarming part was when Stephanopoulos asked him if he had watched the debate. Biden’s response confirmed that he is lost in a fog of senility:

“I don’t think I did, no.”

But he doesn’t know for sure.

At least he provided some comic relief by claiming that he restored decency to the White House.

Biden also elicited guffaws by claiming Trump would cause inflation and by repeatedly calling him a “pathological liar.” This from the guy who gave us Bidinflation and who has been known for decades for compulsively telling easily disprovable and often preposterous lies.

Among the lies he told Stephanopoulos, Biden croaked, “I’m the guy that put NATO together,” inspiring Kari Lake to deliver the coup de grâce:

Stephanopoulos did his part for the party by reminding viewers that Trump is a convicted felon, not realizing that to a genuine American, the Democrat tactic of arresting and convicting political opponents on spurious charges is the best of all the good reasons to vote for Trump.
