Something about Christianity rubs bad guys the wrong way — including the bad guys who dominate public schools.
In Connecticut, seventh grade teacher and grandmother of five Marisol Arroyo-Castro long drew solace from a crucifix hanging near her desk at DiLoreto Elementary & Middle School. But then:
After receiving a complaint from another district employee, the district directed her to either remove the crucifix completely or to put it out of sight — in her desk drawer or underneath her desk, by her feet…
“I wanted to give them what they wanted. I wanted them to be happy. So, I said, ‘Okay, I’ll move it,’” Castro told National Review. “When I picked it up in my hand and I was about to move it, I felt really guilty. I felt like I was sinning. I felt like I had to go to confession.”
When her conscience wouldn’t let her hide the crucifix, educrats suspended her. She is under pressure to quit her job.
This is rich:
The district’s superintendent, Tony Gasper, alleges in an email that having the crucifix visible near Castro’s desk “infringes on the religious freedoms of our diverse student population” and “violates both federal and state laws requiring public schools to remain neutral in religious matters.”
Because their ideology is evil, leftists must call what they are doing the opposite of what it is. Christianity is suppressed in the name of “religious freedoms.” Imposing intolerance is how they “remain neutral.”
If instead of the crucifix, Castro had displayed a flag encouraging children to embrace sexual depravity, she might have been promoted.
