California Democrats Protect Child Sex Trafficking

To get an idea of how cartoonishly evil the Democratic Party has become, look to its vanguard in California:

California Democrats in the State Assembly are once again blocking a bill that would make the sex trafficking of minors a felony — this time for victims age 16 and 17 — preferring instead to give prosecutors discretion.

Prosecutorial discretion will mean sex traffickers walking free:

Notably, some of those prosecutors would be George Soros-backed prosecutors who have avoided enforcing the law in the name of “criminal justice reform,” and whom voters have begun to oust across the state.

To avoid a public relations debacle, Democrats were forced to compromise on an earlier bill and make child sex trafficking a felony when the victims are younger than 16. But they draw the line at punishing traffickers of sex slaves aged 16 and 17. Democrats have their principles, after all.

The bill is intended to…

…roll back some of a bill that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed in 2022 that prevented police from arresting prostitutes for loitering — a bill that led to an explosion of street prostitution, including child sex trafficking.

The bill recalls efforts by State Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) to decriminalize various sex crimes involving minors in their late teens, arguing that these penalize the LGBTQ community disproportionately.

Disparate impact violates the principle of equity.

On a tip from ABC of the ANC.
