Given that the pro-criminal mayor of Chicago is vociferously hostile to law enforcement, how is the socially disintegrating city to deal with out of control violence? Simple: blame guns (despite Chicago already having some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country) and expand the bureaucracy.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed a new executive order creating a taxpayer-funded, stand-alone Department of Gun Violence Reduction after a violent crime-filled Juneteenth and Father’s Day weekend left eight dead and 40 wounded. That includes 14 victims who were shot during a Juneteenth celebration in Princeton Park.

How else to celebrate a federal holiday that was established by John Cornyn & Co. in obeisance to Black Lives Matter rioters?

Annual budget for the useless new department: $100 million. Good thing taxpayers have plenty of money.
