Mass Third World immigration, much of it illegal, did the job for Democrats, transforming California from the Land of Ronald Reagan to the Land of Gavin Newsom. This came at the price of inevitable financial ruin:

California faces a $6.2 billion budget gap in the state’s Medicaid services…

The shortfall comes a year after California launched an ambitious coverage expansion to provide free health care to all low-income adults regardless of their immigration status. That’s costing far more than the state projected.

They should have projected the cost to be $∞, considering that the border was effectively open until Trump took office and the only limit to the Third World’s ability to export rapidly reproducing welfare colonists is our willingness to feed them, house them, and provide them with extravagantly expensive free medical care in exchange for voting Democrat.

California provides free health care to more than a third of its 39 million people.

It’s too late to turn back. Those likely to produce more than they consume will continue to leave the state to escape the skyrocketing taxes and collapsing standard of living. Those who remain will elect ever more radical leftists to redistribute whatever wealth remains. Like formerly wealthy Detroit before it, California has entered the Democrat Death Spiral.
