To impose tyranny in the name of global warming or Covid, Democrats must achieve consensus among the Experts on the dubious if not outright preposterous pseudoscientific opinions they exploit. Technocrats Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins (who just stepped down as head of the NIH) demonstrate how it’s done in emails that the American Institute for Economic Research got hold of through the Freedom of Information Act.

The tale unfolded in October 2020 after the launch of the Great Barrington Declaration, a statement by Harvard’s Martin Kulldorff, Oxford’s Sunetra Gupta and Stanford’s Jay Bhattacharya against blanket pandemic lockdowns. They favored a policy of what they called “focused protection” of high-risk populations such as the elderly or those with medical conditions. Thousands of scientists signed the declaration—if they were able to learn about it.

The liberal establishment suppressed the Great Barrington Declaration, largely by ignoring it. Debt Star technocrats like Fauci and Collins took a more active approach.

“This proposal from the three fringe epidemiologists . . . seems to be getting a lot of attention – and even a co-signature from Nobel Prize winner Mike Leavitt at Stanford. There needs to be a quick and devastating published take down of its premises,” Dr. Collins wrote [to Fauci]. “Is it underway?”

“Fringe” is technocratese for “dissident.”

A week after his email, Dr. Collins spoke to the Washington Post about the Great Barrington Declaration. “This is a fringe component of epidemiology,” he said. “This is not mainstream science. It’s dangerous.”

What really is dangerous is white collar thugs like Collins and Fauci politicizing science and suppressing debate.

Dr. Fauci replied to Dr. Collins that the takedown was underway. …

Dr. Fauci also emailed an article from the Nation, a left-wing magazine, and his staff sent him several more. The emails suggest a feedback loop: The media cited Dr. Fauci as an unquestionable authority, and Dr. Fauci got his talking points from the media. Facebook censored mentions of the Great Barrington Declaration. This is how groupthink works.

Recalcitrant scientists of the “Eppur si muove” type aren’t imprisoned these days. They aren’t even forced to listen to Collins singing and strumming his guitar. Soft tyrannies have soft takedowns. These make ideological conformity a prerequisite for career success and even continued employment.

Similar takedowns can be expected as necessary to keep everyone on the same page regarding the global warming hoax. Any scientist skeptical about a policy of controlling the weather by wasting taxpayer money on electric cars and other inefficient boondoggles will be dismissed as “fringe” and canceled.

The strain appears to be so easily transmissible that there is no possibility of stopping it from spreading, and no harsher in most cases than a head cold. Yet our rulers have reacted by doubling down on the draconian measures that did no good even with less transmissible strains. Creepy Joe croaks ominously about a “winter of severe illness and death.”

Their perpetual state of emergency is on a ventilator, ready to flatline. Desperate to keep it breathing, they cry wolf at the top of their lungs. No one will ever take these people seriously again.

Another conspiracy theory turns out to be true, as real life becomes ever more like a dystopian science fiction movie. The Swedish company Epicenter has produced an implantable microchip with obvious applications related to Covid tyranny:

The firm has showcased an implant capable of storing a Covid passport that can then be read by any device using the near-field communication (NFC) protocol.

It’s not just Covid passports that can be stored on the chips. Things like office IDs, bus passes or gym memberships can all be inserted into the body.

The implant might even store a list of thought crimes a person has committed on social media. This will cut down on unnecessary job interviews; an HR drone can just wave a sensor at you and deem you ideologically unfit for employment.

‘Implants are very versatile technology that can be used for many different things, and right now it is very convenient to have Covid passport always accessible on your implant,’ Epicenter’s chief disruption officer Hannes Sjoblad told Ruptly.

Chief Disruption Officer. These posturing moonbats are taking control of the most intimate aspects of our lives. What they are disrupting is privacy and autonomy.

The endless hectoring about the Unvaccinated is an attempt to shift blame onto a group designated as scapegoats. Everyone was unvaccinated until Trump enabled the rapid development of vaccines through Operation Warp Speed. Biden croaked that Trump did not deserve to be president because of those who died of Covid while he was in office. Yet more have died of Covid with Biden in office after less than a year — and Biden had the vaccines handed to him by the previous administration. Looks like this is not about vaccination after all.

The good news about Omicron continues to accrue. As we have known from the beginning, it is extremely mild, often no worse than a cold. Its spread could relatively painlessly establish herd immunity through natural immunity, which is more effective than the vaccines, even if the liberal establishment doesn’t like to talk about it.

Now for the bad news: banking on public ignorance and proneness to panic, our rulers continue to exploit Omicron hysteria anyway. As Paul Joseph Watson observes, “It’s almost like they want to keep us frightened, segregated, and atomized forever.”

Ironically but unsurprisingly, ultraliberal Holland leads the march back into tyranny — and on behalf of Jews — by forbidding right-leaning politician Thierry Baudet from drawing an obvious parallel on Twitter between anti-Semitic oppression and alarmingly repressive Covid measures.

Among the tweets was one that called people who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus “the new Jews, the exclusionists who look the other way are the new Nazis and NSBers.” NSB is the acronym for the National Socialist Movement, the Dutch branch of the Nazi party.

As if to confirm this, an unnamed judge ruled that Baudet’s viewpoint “goes beyond what can be justified in the interests of robust public debate.”

The court ordered Baudet to remove the tweets from his Twitter feed within 48 hours. If he does not, he must pay 25,000 euros ($28,000) each day that they remain online. …

Baudet is leader of the right-wing populist party Forum for Democracy which has five seats in the lower house of Dutch parliament.

The Jewish groups that started the civil case against Baudet welcomed the ruling, saying in a statement that it “made an important contribution to indicating the limits of the public debate.”

Unlimited public debate might have saved a few lives during the Holocaust. But authoritarians didn’t allow it.
