Democrats are so used to the media gaslighting on their behalf that no projection of their own flaws onto their opponents is too obvious a lie. Biden has even proclaimed that “The only person calling to defund the police is Donald Trump.”

Seeing is not believing with Democrat pols:

Biden proclaimed in an interview with Ady Barkan that he would “absolutely” redirect funding from the police, who he had just characterized as having “become the enemy.” But this stance is not playing well in the polls, so Biden pins it on his opponent.

[Biden] accused Trump of attempting to cut $400 million from “state and local help.”

A Breitbart News Fact Check from July found Biden’s repeated claim to be “false.”

A major source of Biden’s claim seems to stem from the proposed $244 million cut from the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP), which assists state and local agencies with detaining illegal aliens who commit crimes.

Instead, Trump wants to use that money for border enforcement instead, shifting resources closer to the problem.

Painting Trump as hostile to the police is a tough sell for the party that has ostentatiously aligned itself with the rabidly antipolice rioters of Black Lives Matter — especially considering that Trump has been endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police and the National Association of Police Organizations. But no doubt the media will help Biden as best it can.
