Meanwhile, as the USA plunges headlong toward communism via tax & spend liberalism on steroids, countries that have already achieved the economic end goal of leftism are heading back the other way:

Over the weekend the Cuban government said it would be opening up most of its economy to the private sector.

That’s how nominally communist China went from mass starvation under Mao to the economic growth it enjoys today.

According to the Financial Times the government would allow private sector involvement in over 2000 professions. It only allows the private sector to be involved in just over 100 professions currently. Other reforms include the end of subsidies to state-owned companies, even if this leads to their failure.

Our own government doesn’t even let private companies fail — not if they are big enough to have a seat at the table. They just get quasi-absorbed by Washington, like General Motors under Obama.

After Cuba and the USA pass each other going in opposite directions, it will be Americans who try to float across the 90 miles of shark-infested waters on inner tubes.
