Dumbest Statement Yet on Gun Violence?

The chaos resulting from the War on Police has predictably led to increased violence. Just as predictably, the violence has been blamed by the Democrat politicians who enabled it on the weapons used. An example is a recent altercation that got out of hand at the Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa (greater Milwaukee). Eight people were wounded, not including Dennis McBride, the mayor of this Democrat stronghold, who shot himself in the foot with possibly the dumbest remark ever uttered in public:

Guns have no place in shopping malls or other places in which crowds of people gather. Mayfair has a strict no-gun policy. If the shooter had complied with that policy, no one would have been hurt yesterday.

Virtually all mass shootings occur in gun-free zones.

Maybe, instead of no-gun policies, we should try no-mayhem policies. If mostly peaceful protesters complied with such policies throughout the hundreds of race riots we have seen this year, it would have saved lives, jobs, and $billions in property damage.

A 15-year-old has been arrested for the shooting. The identity of the youth is secret, but I’m guessing a no-fatherless-home-financed-by-the-Welfare-State policy would have prevented the violence far more effectively than any gun restrictions.
