Our leftist rulers have begun to drop the pretense that you can be both a Democrat and a Christian. Obama infamously politicized and weaponized the IRS. Under his still more unscrupulous successor Biden, the IRS has denied tax-exempt status to a religious group on the grounds that teaching Biblical values helps Republicans:

Christians Engaged provides nonpartisan religious and civic education, focusing on encouraging and educating Christians to be civically engaged as a part of their religious practice. Christians Engaged applied for tax exempt status in late 2019. On May 18, 2021, IRS Exempt Organizations Director Stephen A. Martin denied the application, contending that Christians Engaged “engage[s] in prohibited political campaign intervention” and “operate[s] for a substantial non-exempt private purpose and for the private interests of the [Republican] party.”

Gasps Christians Engaged President Bunni Pounds,

“We just want to encourage more people to vote and participate in the political process. How can anyone be against that?”

Democrats want people voting. But not just any people. Illegal aliens would have been voting in much larger numbers had they been able to ram through the “For the People Act.” The facilitation of voter fraud would have allowed inner-city cheaters to cast multiple ballots with greater ease. In contrast, American citizens who are Christians are not the type Democrats want casting ballots.

First Liberty Institute has issued an appeal on behalf of Christians Engaged.

In its administrative appeal letter, First Liberty says, “By finding that Christians Engaged does not meet the operational test, Director Martin errs in three ways: 1) he invents a nonexistent requirement that exempt organizations be neutral on public policy issues; 2) he incorrectly concludes that Christians Engaged primarily serves private, nonexempt purposes rather than public, exempt purposes because he thinks its beliefs overlap with the Republican Party’s policy positions; and 3) he violates the First Amendment’s Free Speech, and Free Exercise, and Establishment clauses by engaging in both viewpoint discrimination and religious discrimination.”

From Martin’s rejection letter:

“Specifically, you educate Christians on what the Bible says in areas where they can be instrumental including the areas of sanctity of life, the definition of marriage, biblical justice, freedom of speech, defense, and borders and immigration, U.S. and Israel relations. The Bible teachings are typically affiliated with the [Republican Party] and candidates. This disqualifies you from exemption under IRC Section 501(c)(3).”

The Bible correlates with Republican positions; therefore, Christianity is political. By the same token, the IRS had better not grant tax-exempt status to the Satanic Temple, which correlates with Democrat positions.

You can see why Biden wants to shovel an extra $80,000,000,000.00 of our money at the IRS to make it more powerful. As Obama found, it is useful for punishing enemies.

You can also see why the US Conference of Catholic Bishops is moving forward with plans to deny Biden Communion. A recent poll by CatholicVote found that 74% of churchgoing Catholics agree that Biden should not be allowed to take Communion due to his gravely immoral policies. Participation by willful malefactors like Biden and Pelosi reduces the Eucharist to a blasphemous farce.
