After a massive six-stroke flash of lightning struck near the White House, I joked that liberals would blame it on “climate change.” Turns out it was not a joke but an accurate prediction.

Roto-Reuters “reports,” presumably with a straight face:

Scientists say that climate change is increasing the likelihood of lightning strikes across the United States, after lightning struck at a square near the White House, leaving three people dead and one other in critical condition.

The implication is that the unfortunate victims would still be alive and healthy if only taxes were high enough and our standard of living low enough.

All things must be shoehorned into progressives’ cramped little ideology. Lightning is not racist or homophobic; therefore, it must be caused by climate change — i.e., by our failure to submit to the hand-to-mouth totalitarian misery leftists dream of inflicting in the name of the weather.
