Let’s hope psychiatrist Aruna Khilanani has time in her schedule to take on a new patient. New York Times editorial board member and MSNBC contributor Mara Gay sustained emotional trauma after peeking outside the liberal elite bubble she inhabits and witnessing the horrific sight of “dozens of American flags” on a safari into the unpacified wilds of Long Island.

This must have been so hurtful to her:

“I was on Long Island this weekend visiting a really dear friend, and I was really disturbed. I saw, you know, dozens and dozens of pickup trucks with [expletives] against Joe Biden on the back of them, Trump flags, and, in some cases, just dozens of American flags, which is also just disturbing … Essentially, the message was clear … This is my country. This is not your country. I own this,” Mara Gay said Tuesday on MSNBC.

According to liberal establishment doctrine, patriotism is racist:

“I think that as long as they see American-ness as the same as one with whiteness, this is going to continue,” Gay added during the segment. “That is the real concern. Because, you know, the Trump voters who are not going to get on board with democracy, they’re a minority. You can marginalize them, long term. But if we don’t take the threat seriously, then I think we’re all in really bad shape,” she added.

Gay can rest assured that our rulers take the threat very seriously. While pandering to black supremacists in Tulsa, Biden recently proclaimed that “white supremacists” — i.e., people who didn’t vote for him — are terrorists and constitute the “most lethal threat” facing the nation.
