Medicine Falls to Moonbattery
Anything moonbattery infiltrates, it corrupts, subverts, and ruins. It has infiltrated medicine. This does not bode well for public health.
The American Medical Association now opposes sex as a legal designation on birth certificates — because moonbattery:
Requiring it can lead to discrimination and unnecessary burden on individuals whose current gender identity does not align with their designation at birth, namely when they register for school or sports, adopt, get married, or request personal records.
If what you really are contradicts what you might say you are at a given moment, official records of what you really are must be abolished.
Pretending that sex is an arbitrary concept that can be altered on a whim does not advance medical science. But just as winning takes a back seat to sniveling victimhood in sports, science has been subordinated to wokeness in medicine.
The good news is that men can now treat prostate cancer by identifying as women. It won’t make the cancer go away, but the cost savings should be significant. As the cancer advances and metastasizes, you can treat it by identifying as cancer-free.
Tennessee and Ohio are the only states reasonable enough not to allow the sexually deranged to alter their sex on their birth certificate from what they are to what they pretend they are. However, only 10 states allow progressive parents to keep sex designation off the birth certificate from the beginning. That is not enough to suit Willie Underwood III (member of the AMA and National Medical Association Commission to End Health Care Disparities):
“Assigning sex using binary variables in the public portion of the birth certificate fails to recognize the medical spectrum of gender identity,” Underwood said, and can be used to discriminate.
Fundamental scientific realities such as the male/female binary are canceled in the name of leftist ideology masquerading as science.
Most doctors probably know better than to take the woke posturing of the AMA seriously. But not for long. As Katie Herzog reports, the indoctrination starts in medical school:
During a recent endocrinology course at a top medical school in the University of California system, a professor stopped mid-lecture to apologize for something he’d said at the beginning of class.
“I don’t want you to think that I am in any way trying to imply anything, and if you can summon some generosity to forgive me, I would really appreciate it,” the physician says in a recording provided by a student in the class… “Again, I’m very sorry for that. It was certainly not my intention to offend anyone. The worst thing that I can do as a human being is be offensive.”
Specifically, here’s the worst thing you can do as a human being:
“I said ‘when a woman is pregnant,’ which implies that only women can get pregnant and I most sincerely apologize to all of you.”
This is the equivalent of a math professor begging forgiveness for having said that 2 + 2 = 4.
The purpose of the groveling apology was to avoid cancelation, at the expensive of educating students regarding biological reality.
Progressive doctrine asserts that biological sex is a social construct imposed by repressive cis-normative patriarchs. Submitting to this lunacy has real world consequences:
In 2019, the New England Journal of Medicine reported the case of a 32-year-old transgender man [i.e., a woman] who went to an ER complaining of abdominal pain. While the patient disclosed [she] was transgender, [her] medical records did not. [She] was simply a man. The triage nurse determined that the patient, who was obese, was in pain because [she’d] stopped taking a medication meant to relieve hypertension. This was no emergency, she decided. She was wrong: The patient was, in fact, pregnant and in labor. By the time hospital staff realized that, it was too late. The baby was dead.
Pregnancy isn’t the only condition where actual sex matters:
Other conditions that present differently and at different rates in males and females include hernias, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and asthma, among many others. Males and females also have different normal ranges for kidney function, which impacts drug dosage. They have different symptoms during heart attacks: males complain of chest pain, while women experience fatigue, dizziness, and indigestion. In other words: biological sex is a hugely important factor in knowing what ails patients and how to properly treat them.
Nonetheless, medical professors cower in fear of their woke students, who will “name and shame” them if they utter forbidden terms like “male,” “female,” and “breastfeed.”
Leftism is a truly totalitarian ideology. It is like algae in a pond, using up all the oxygen so that nothing else can live — not medicine, not science, not history, not sports, not entertainment, nothing.
