Ms. Magazine: Pregnancy Is Not a Benign Condition

If Satan were to design an ideology to promote evil at the most fundamental level, it would not merely wish specific people harm, the way garden variety malign ideologies like Islam and Nazism wish harm on Jews. A truly evil ideology would wish the entire human race the ultimate harm — it would wish people not to exist.

One ideology that takes malevolence to this extreme is radical environmentalism, which demands humans stop existing for the sake of the weather. Another is feminism, as demonstrated by this Ms. Magazine headline:

Pregnancy and Childbirth Endanger Women’s Lives and Health: “Pregnancy Is Not a Benign Condition”

War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength, sustaining life endangers life.

Shrieks Ms.:

Why are we warned in lurid detail about the minimal risks of abortion, but not told a word about the tremendous risks of continuing a pregnancy?

By definition, no child has ever survived a successful abortion. If that is minimal risk, imagine what tremendous risk must be like.

“Pregnancy is not a benign condition,” said Dr. Warren M. Hern, director of the Boulder Abortion Clinic. “Women die from pregnancy.”

When you want a judicious opinion, turn to an abortionist in the moonbat enclave of Boulder, Colorado.

In 2019, 754 women died from pregnancy-related causes in the U.S.

Compare that to the 629,898 American children whose death by abortion was reported to the CDC in 2019. This does not count women who died as a result of physical or psychological complications of abortion.

Hern calls legalized abortion “one of the greatest public health successes in the history of medicine.” Abortion has killed over 63 million Americans since Roe v. Wade — 10 times as great a “public health success” as the Holocaust.

Covid taught progressives that where the data fail, sheer hysteria can push the agenda forward:

“Pregnancy itself poses a ‘serious health risk,’” said Hern. “A woman’s life and health are at risk from the moment that a pregnancy exists in her body, whether she wants to be pregnant or not.”

Ms. provides a list of symptoms pregnancy might cause even if it doesn’t kill you outright, including fatigue, body aches, frequent urination, and tingling hands.

Everything bad is racist. Pregnancy is no exception:

Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women.

Ms. sells its magazine to left-wing women, not to babies. But half of the babies killed by abortion would have grown up to be women.

Admittedly, if women did not have babies, there would be no sexism — since there would be no people to be sexist.

On a tip from Lyle.
